Personally I feel that Zuko is a very deep character, my favorite infact, but for him to join Aang would sort of ruin this show for me. His whole character is about never giving up. He is determined and confuzed. At odds with all the world, with only one person he can really call family. The whole conflict within himself is what makes this show so interesting for me. To lose that side of him would, in my opinion, damage the awesome role he plays in this great show.

I'm with you man. It would ruin part of the show if Zuko joined up with Aang and it would ruin it even more if Zuko *gulp* TAUGHT Aang Firebending...I mean part of the fun of Avatar is the two parallel stories of Zuko and Aang...if Zuko joined up with Aang it would be like this whole buddy flick type stuff going on and it's just...ehhh man...I'd rather Azula gives Zuko a Fireball Facial(my own lil terminology ) than Zuko to ever start riding on Appa...

hate to compare Anime with Anime.

but these two have a prgressing relationship just like dare I say.............Goku and Vegeta.

you have to admit Ang has the same easy going attitude as Goku and will always fight for what is right.

and Zuko like Vegeta a prince, lots of pride out to get the hero and fulfill their own destiny.

as in DBZ the relation went from enemies, to allies out of necessity, to comrades.

and DBZ was to me the best story before Avatar showed its shiney arrowed head.

I don't know.?? I think it would add to his character.?? Over the course of the show Zuko has tried to prove that he can do things all on his own.?? In the last episode (LL) his uncle finally gets through to him and once he ran out of explanations he??throws down his swords and mask because he knows he can no longer run from himself.

Who knows what will happen to him in the next episode with his spiritual crisis and everything.?? Who knows, he might come to grips with himself and begin to see??his life as it actually is.?? Someone who never gives up, but at the same time, someone who knows when to give in (to his uncle that is).??

You know that the showdown will be against the firelord, and Zuko will have to choose between his father or the kid who can make the world a better place. In the meantime, having IROH train Aang would make for a very competetive dynamic between the two if they do become allies.

    Speaking of Iroh...

We have yet to see the White Lotus organization that Iroh is a part of, as well as imbalance in the material world is causing the spirit world. And I am dying to know what happened when Iroh went to the spirit world. Did he look for Lu Ten?

dang! im sooo with you! ofcourse, Aang and Zuko will have to face and fight with eachother one day, cause they sorta have the same enemy now. but Zuko joining Aang????? omg, that would be sooo disappointing. one thing though, why does everyone thinks he has given up, capturing the avatar? like i earlier said, he could be fooling Iroh (wouldnt be the first time right?)

I'm glad some people are against Zuko joining Aang, I'd so hate to see it, especially since almost everyone is predicting it. It's a real disapointment, I loved the two seperate stories but apparently everyone else wants them to be together, I bet that's why the creators are putting them together because everyone wanted it so bad. Just like I hear there's gonna be Zutara now? Uh, please, just when I thought my stomach couldn't be knotted up any worse.

No one dug the Hudson Hawk-like buddy movie done with Aang and Zuko post of mine? Come on, it's the ultimate adventure!

*Zuko and Aang walk down the street*
    Zuko: We'll travel along!
    Aang: Singing a song!
    Both: Siiiiiide! By! SIIIIIIIIDE!

If it make sence, I agree with both sides. Zuko is a major angst source, and a balance for Aang's sometimes overly cheerfullness. As much as we love Zuzu, we also like to see him suffer ((Admit it, you know you do)). I mean, that's what half the show is about! In some ways, him joining the Gaang sounds...stupid!

But, on the other hand, Zuko is trying to do the right thing now. What could be more 'right' than helping Aang???Now while I don't think we're gonna turn on the tv??next episode??and see Zuko standing in the middle of their camp, if he did join, it'd be a gradual thing. Get what I mean?

Zuko's story is a very interesting one and I can agree that it staying seperate as a good thing but I can also contest that he would make a great allie with the Gaang.?? I think back to the Blue Spirit episode where Aang was telling Zuko about his friend from the fire nation in the end of the episode.?? They both genuinely had a moment where they connected.?? Even when they laid in bed.?? They both thought about the connection.
So as for him joining the Gaang I can see it happening.?? Iroh would be a great teacher for Aang and I can understand the real relationship that would develop as the two of them would learn from each other.?? I can agree with Goku and Vegeta analagy from an earlier post.?? It does make sense.??
In the end though the whole show I don't think would be ruined by it.?? In fact it would enhance it further.?? Besides I don't think that the show would amount to much if it just continued with Iroh and Zuko running a tea shop.?? There has to be forward progress.

Well Iroh can teach him. Zuko will just be another pupil or assistant.

Zuko will for some reason??go back to the Fire Nation...I can't say for sure what, but no way that during Book 3 while Aang's Squad is trekkin through the jungle(Fire Nation has em trust me) Zuko is serving tea? hell no that won't happen...

You have an interesting point but I don't really think there is reason enough for Zuko to go back to the Fire Nation when he is an outlaw.?? Think about his punishment.?? In fact look at the Avatar State episode when they were welcomed back by Azula but in truth they were going to be prisoners.
So at this point I see but a few possibilities.
1.?? Zuko and Iroh having to flee Ba Sing Se because of exposure.?? So they go with Aang and help him.
2.?? They have to flee Ba Sing Se and form their own rebellion against the fire nation.?? (For some reason I see them helping the freedom fighters now that Jet is gone.?? Not to mention who better to have as your allie other than the dragon of the West who knows the Fire Nations strategies?)
3.?? They serve tea for the rest of their lives.
4.?? They become nomads.?? Lol.?? Sorry I had to put that one in there.
