That's true too. I have been wondering that too. They sort of touched it in the episodes when Jet and the others were going to Ba Sing Se but they just said that they changed their ways.

I would love to see Zuko not?? join Aang, but instead, turn agaist his father by himself. That would be more in his character. Also, we would still get to see both storylines evolving seperately. Iroh and Zuko together/ Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Joo Dee.

LOL. Where does Joo Dee come in on this. That's why I would like to see Zuko and Iroh lead the Freedom Fighters.

This was what Wikipedia said on the matter.

"Appa guides Aang and his friends to the Eastern Air Temple to visit with Guru Pathik. Aang tells Guru Pathik of his plight, but that he is unable to continue without learning firebending. Guru Pathik explains to Aang that although he is in need of a firebending master, the one who will teach him is in greater need of Aang. The team decide to journey back to Ba Sing Se in search of this master."

I know this is unlikely, but I still like the sound of it.

I think that sounds like a good theory on what could happen. We'll see what happens though. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of the writers.

Who ever dares to say that Zuko joins Aang and the gang??is a bad idea,??must be a big loser, it's so obvious that Zuko has to join Aang and teach him Firebending, I mean Jeong Jeong promised Aang to teach him but I think at the end that will be impossible and that when Zuko must become a good guy and look for the best for the Fire Nation and the World.

    WHO IS WITH ME?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zuko and Iroh are still in the show for a reason! They've been leading towards this since...FOREVER!! And who didn't think that part in "The Chase", when they all fought against Azula, was AWESOME?!! FORESHADOWING!!!!

Not me, listen just because he/she doesn't believe that Zuko joining Aang is a good idea is entitled to their own opinion. Not everyone has to think the same or believe the same. While I like Season 2 Zuko MUCH more than Season 1 Zuko, I admit there is something attractive about Zuko being Aang's rival compared to him as a comrade. While it seems that Zuko is going to join the Aang Gang, a dozen plots are pointing in that direction, I don't want Aang and Zuko to lose that parallel and rivalry between them. (And please don't mistake me for a yoai fangirl, I prefer shipping straight couples but there is nothing WRONG with homosexual relationships either.) I've always been fascinated by their relationship, the push and pull between the two an echoing of Yin and Yang.

I will agree with you Eyes_Only. Besides did everyone notice how the combining of the 4 elements seemed to be similar to when Aang goes into TAS?

There's an interview on TurboNick, where the creators answer questions from Avatar fans. One of the questions they answer concerns Zuko's mother. Bryne states that "Zuko is going to start wanting to search for her." All we know is she disappeared. I think after Zuko faces a spiritual crisis in "The Earth King" looking for his mother will become his next mission. What form he quest would take is plausible; it could, or could not, involve Aang's own journey. I think about it this way: Zuko became obsessed with catching the Avatar because of his father, but his mother was the one who taught him to be a good person. If, as the creators state, he wants to go looking for his mother, this would become the best indication that he no longer wants to catch the Avatar. The whole motivation to catch Aang came from Ozai, so if we see a shift in which loyalty Zuko places himself, we see a return, or rebirth of sorts, to the boy Zuko was before his mother disappeared. What kind of person would he be if his mother never left?

    No kidding. So...EXAMPLE:
He goes into "spiritual crisis" mode and then wants to look for his mom. He finds her...beat up or sick or something, and her dying words are telling him to "do the right thing"...
    That what ya mean?

I think Zuko's power would intensify at that point close to Aang's. Azula and Ozai would have no chance.
