Guys, it's really no big deal if BR1 and 2 airs after May 6th. Nick's put "bonus" episodes in DVDs all the time! If not, then video retailers will be told not to put Volume three on the shelves until BR1&2 airs. *shrugs*

I'm not so sure they can do that....you know ask retailers to 'not' put DVDs on shelves...once they receive the DVDs it's pretty much their property. Plus the retailers have a contract with Nick, Nick promised the DVDs on or before May 6th so they would be ready for sell that day. For Nick to renig on that promise or contractual agreement would be a mega-hassel for Nick.

My thoughts are that since we have zero advertising there's at least a good argument that the episodes will go straight to DVD.

A lot will depend on what happens Friday...if Friday's Avatar is anything but WAT, then I think we need to consider seriously the 'straight-to-DVD' option...

Of course one other thing to consider we've all ruled out April 11th and May 2nd because of SpongeBob and Zoey 101 respectively. Could it at all be possible for Avatar to air on those nights either before or after these other mega-advertised shows?

I don't really know. Who can really think for Nick and win? LOL

there is a really long marathon of avatar on april 11 before and after the pest of the west

    Another good point!

Picaboomman is right. When the Nick April highlights were released recently there was no mention of Avatar anywhere.

That doesn't exactly bode well for the future.

Nothing seems to lately. I'd rather have lost the KCA if it meant some episode progression.

Maybe that's why we won? As a teaspoon of sugar before we were to taste the keg of bittersweet neglect on Nick's part for Avatar and its fans?

    Hope maybe?

I think Uchiha makes a good point. We could literally drive ourselves crazy thinking and rethinking Nick's next move with regards to Avatar.

It's really hard not to think about it or talk about though, argh.

I think this Friday should at least say something. If it's not WAT airing, then there's always the NYCC April 18-20th because rumors have been rampant that Nick will announce something there.

    Who knows?

When I made my account it was just for reading the boards. I wish I would have made my username Jerkbender or something cooler than my generic Naruto based Username I use for everything out of habit.

at this point I expect this at the NYCC

"DVD 3 will be released at end of May instead of May 6th, the Simon and Schuster book release will be in late June, not May 20th, we look forward to the avatar fans tuning in to our network when the new episodes of avatar are shown in NICK"

Really? I didn't know that. What's the Naruto character 'Uchiha' like? What is his bending power?

10 STRAIGHT WEEKS of Avatar compared to the other seasons being drawn out over a course of 8 to 9 months is the cause of the problem. Nick has created a problem (drawing out the show) but they have no idea how to do it in a reasonable manner. If at all...

On the Nick.com schedule, a lot of other shows that day are undefined. I'm not sure if they're not advertising Avatar on the main Nick station, but I think that WAT will air without prior notice or it might just have one little ad for it.

Look, all I know is that Nick is going about this the entirely wrong way. If there were some method of how not to deal with a popular show, or how to alienate fans, then Nick has by definition written the handbook on this.

And frankly, I'm just plain tired of it, and I know you all are too.

Nick had better thank their lucky stars (or preferably, pucker up and kiss the collective genius a** of Mike and Bryan) for their network having been graced with the best show in their line-up for years in the first place. And then to blow it all off in favor for their usual marathon of crap? I highly doubt--in fact I am willing to bet--that any other fanbase wouldn't have stuck with them this long after the ridiculously sporadic spurts of episodes and the months of complete dry spells without even a single bloody repeat. How they could even consider making Avatar go direct to DVD mid-season for no apparent reason is absolute bull s***, but sadly, this scenario is becoming more likely by the day.

And so Nick, if one of you mindless drones is staring at a computer screen somewhere with a black stare and a drool-covered chin while reading this, listen up: We refuse to let you win.

    Viva Avatar!

Whew. The brashness of this post makes it all the more poetic. You would think that Nick has online representatives reading different boards to see what people's opinions of them are. You know, market research.

I'm really losing hope that Avatar will ever return to television. This is just plain ridiculous.
