Aang has been official recognized as a master airbender, that is what the arrow tatoo's symbolize, go back and watch episdoe 3 the souther air temple...all the masters (including Aang) had the arrow tatoo's, the other kids Aangs age did not. Then go back and watch Appa's lost days, the female master had the arrow and all the young kids didn't, even Aang didn't have them at that point.

I believe it was mentioned that he was the youngest master airbender, so that means we now have 3 prodigy benders in the show.
    Azula (stated as such)
Aang (youngest master in airbender history)
Katara (became a master with a few years of being self taught and 3 weeks of professional training)

sorry for the double, but one more thing....Toph is likely the only metel bender, it is only due to her ability to physically see the impurites in the metel that she is able to bend it

Are you kidding? Of course she's a progidy! She's only like 11 and can easily take out any earthbender one on one (except maybe Bumi) She can also destroy a whole group of Dai Lee agents. If she isn't a child progidy, then I don't know what is.

Wait, are you being sarcastic? If you are then I take back my rant

The impurities. She's only able to see them because she's blind. If it wasn't for her blindness, she probably wouldn't be able to do it.

Ftw? I think you meant btw.

I bet Bumi could bend metal. I mean, he could bend with his head! Who's to say he can't? I'm sure being over 100 years old, he's might know at least how to, but can't.

I say if he could, he's waiting to burst out of that metal box thing he's in and reclaim Omashu!

...speaking of which, should metalbending be considered a seperate bending art or a side style, like sandbending? I go with the latter, personally.
