yeah, that's the story of this show....sad really??

-slugg, I was suprised because you only had like 5,000 posts??2 months ago or something...

ya, they need to make this an hour-long show and movies are 2 hours.
that'd be nice. but maybe too nice. 30 minutes is fine, just more episodes danggit!

There is no doubt in my mind that it was by far the best episode in terms of content, action, emotion, and storyline. I think it was the best episode yet, so are people scoring it low because they didn't like the result (o no, katara hates zuko), or because it was too intense (main character destroyed by lightning and killed)... I may be alone in my opinion, but I think the episode deserves much higher rating,??high 9s??at least

I agree with you. it should have gotten a higher rating because it was the best avatar episode ever. i gave it a 10 and a good review.

I haven't paid attention to my posts. Well there was a couple of times when I was in an arguement post (where I posted a lot because of an arguement in the forums). Anyone else remember Pouj-Rui? Anyways, I do agree with the finale going too fast. I kind of felt like it was trying to squeeze the storyline into an hour.

Pouj-Rui who could forget about him i gained 250 post when we where fighting??him does anyone know what happend to him ???

I agree with you about this sly. The finale imo was good but yes, there are flaws here and there. Character development lacks in this finale of course.

WTF?! WTF?! WTF?! There were weird parallels with Star Wars, which, IMHO, made the show a bit worse (Guru, Aang/Katara thing, Zuko = Lando, etc). But they probably weren't that bad.

The thing is, the criticism of this episode is ridiculous. Character development lacks in this finale? WHAA?! WHA??!!

Zuko returns to Azula's side? That isn't character development? Aang gives up Katara for Avatar state? That isn't development? Again, I agree. This episode makes every other episode of Avatar seem meaningless in comparison. This, so far, is the defining moment of Avatar, and those criticizing it are generally doing it for terrible reasons.

long feng surrendered because he got outwit, outsmarted, and azula disovered where he came from, which he felt ashamed for.

if i was in his position, surrounded by the dai li who is afraid of this intelligent leader then in order to survive, its time for him to kiss her butt

Have you ever seen that episode of Futurama, I think it was the one with the Single Female lawyer Finale. Well it Fry says "People don't want to see something completely unexpected, people want to see the same thing they've seen 100 times before." Xroads really was a great story in it's self, but a majority of the veiwers really were upset with Zuko. If things had gone different with Zuko, I imagine it would have had a perfect 10. I myself like it, a season ending with "a sense of longing" really makes it great.

elementbender made a great point, the aliens got mad because the single female lawyer got married which is highly unexpected considering the show was about a promiscous (sp?) lawyer but the marriage ruined it so fry redid the ending.

Fry killed the man who was proposed by the single lawyer in order for her to stay single. Everybody got what they wanted, many people predicted him to join sides with the gaang.

What if he did join the gaang, now what? What kind of episodes can they do, all they can do now is invade the firenation which could be around 5 episodes including training. They can make great episodes with the introduction of major characters but many people doesnt want that this late in the season. The writer's made a great decision that blew most of us out because it was unexpected

No closure. I felt empty. Call me a baby but that's how I felt. Good episode. So-so season finale.

I thought it was a good episode since I like a show that actually has the ability to toy with me.??The people who are angry with it for selfish reasons and are all ready jumping to conclusions should probably stop. I mean, after seeing how unpredictable this finale was, what makes them think their new predictions of season 3 are more accurate?

Go ahead. I never put much emotional investment into secondary characters like Jet or Suki, but I just now realized how much I was counting on at least a little speck of happiness at the end. Stupid me.

I just rated them both a 10. I think most people might not like how they broke so many rules: bad guys win, hero nearly dies, hero doesn't achieve his sought-after goal, most likely enemy to switch sides doesn't, etc.- one broken animation tradition after another. But that's what I liked most about it.

OMG, i was thinking the exact same thing, and was actually gonna make a thread about it too (you beat me to the punch) I totally agree it was the best episode by far, and my now official personal favourite. Frankly I think it desreves an 11 out of 10

I heartily agree. Sure, there's not any closure, but that makes the anticipation for the next season even better. Plus, you couldn't beat the awesome unpredictablilty. I would tune in simply to find what happened next. (If I wouldn't watch it) Frankly, that episode embodifies why people outside the 9-12 male demographic (Pretty much this whole forum) watches Avatar!

The creators of the show are just sticking to their original story. They are not making up plot twist just to confuse thier audience. They have already thought up pretty much the whole story. And I don't think anyone of us can truly understand the complexity of the story they are trying to tell. At least not until the show ends. That's what makes avatar so great!

I personally thought it was one of the best??I had ever seen. The battle strategies, the fight, the near death, betrayal, and Zuko's continuous fight. I don't know why it was rated so low, other then the fact that people thought it wasn't long enouugh. I didn't think the two parter was long enough myself. I still rated like 9.8 or something though.??the drama was some of the best.

I used to totally agree with that.?? Now my trust has been shaken.

Pooldude says that the season won't start until April or May due to "production delays?"?? Here's the production delay:?? they got??so excited writing a shocker/cliffhanger that they forgot something... now they have to find a way out of the cavernous plot hole they've dug themselves into.?? First, they need to expand Zuko's dealings with Azula & co and/or Ozai, if he stays bad; or his rescue of Iroh if he goes good;?? Aang needs a firebending teacher, they need to put the Earth King and Bosco somewhere, they have to find a way to??get into the FN now that the whole world has been essentially conquered, plus the following side/back stories:
    - Zuko's supposed search for Ursa, as stated by Bryan (why should we care about that if he's a baddie, BTW?)
    - Iroh's Spirit Journey which hasn't been mentioned all season
    - the truth behind Azulon's fate
    - What happened to Suki and Jet (maybe they'll just dangle these forever?)
    - The solar eclipse: what happens now that there's no one left to invade the FN when that happens?
    - Hakoda: what about the water tribe??? If Ba Sing Se is taken, they are in danger.?? Hakoda basically had a cameo last night, that's about it.

That's a LOT to get into 20 episodes.?? It took 20 minutes last night just for Aang to sit and work on his chakras.

Was it just me, or did Zuko seem really powerful in this episode.
