I now see the light. Naruto is way more mature.
You're obviously not up to date. Plus, a chibi doesn't prove any point except that you're desperate. Naruto is far more mature as there's actually character death, emotion, an actual storyline that's not one tracked, and plenty of other stuff I won't bother to list.
So more characters dead equals a better story. Your logic is undeniable. And I'd call you guys desperate for tying to tell us Avatar isn't better than Naruto.
They have much harder pasts and they are faced with much tougher choices.
Aang's entire culture was ethnically cleansed. I don't think it gets much harder than that.
Naruto had no family and the village hated him he had no family memebers hidden in the leaf.
So what, Ash was thrown out of his house at the age of 12, and was sent off to violently hunt down dangerous monsters for a living
Yeah why would you bring that into it, at least his mom took care of his son!
At least Naruto had a place to sleep at night, Ash slept outside in the woods, he was a homeless 10 year old kid living on his own
He slept at the pokemon center every time.

    That's according to your opinion.
Care to prove me otherwise? Give me a character from Avatar who you think had a hard past and I can find a character in Naruto who had a past 10 times worse.

Aang. And you're gonna say Sasuke I know it!

Well Aang and Sasuke is tied. So what you gonna do about that.
How are they tied? Sasukes is way worse. If im not mistaken Aang still had friends from other nations. Once Sasukes family was murdered he had no1. Plus Sasuke had to witness it and it must have been harder because it was his brother that did it.

Franly I think "culture" trumps "clan."
They are the same thing essentially. A group of people who you come to know as your family. I don't really see the difference.

(Never seen any ninja's parents forbid their child to do it.) Teo, a good and smart kid, son of a smart guy who was a great inventer.. but then his whole view of his father is crushed when he found out his father invents Weapons of Mass Destruction for the Firebenders. And also, he has no choice but to make it, otherwise the Fire Nation will destroy Teo's family.
Yeah but his family wasnt already killed.
I think everyone agrees that having you family killed is worse than not having a family.
Yeah I know but Im just saying he had to live by himself and was exiled people hated his guts.

So everytime we bring up a character with a past, you're only gonna use that Sasuke Trump Card.. that's pretty sad.

Cause having your family already dead sure is worse than ONE FREAKING FOURTH OF THE WORLD killed in your absense and thinking it's your fault, right?

Actually, every other time, most of the time it was on woods, and it took them alteast 3 days to go from town to town, on the woods, where no one would hear if you screamed because a pokemon tried to eat you, or if the only black man tried to rape you...

Ash/Satoshi needs to make an autobiography!

Actually, every other time, most of the time it was on woods, and it took them alteast 3 days to go from town to town, on the woods, where no one would hear if you screamed because a pokemon tried to eat you, or if the only black man tried to rape you...

Ash/Satoshi needs to make an autobiography!
Meh... Whatever say what you want to say.

True, but a culture is an entire civilization. A distinct race, basically. We're talking potentionally hundreds of thousands of people.

A clan is not much more above a single villiage community.

"Power in Firebending comes from the breathe, not the muscles. The breathe becomes energy in the body. The energy extends past your limbs and becomes fire!"

"His chi is blocked. Who did this too you?"
"One of them hit me with a couple quick jabs and I couldn't Earthbend, and I could hardly move."

There you have it. The benders' chi is used to control the elements. If their chi is cut off, they can't bend. The martial arts associated with each element is merely how they control the element, using their chi. Movements that can be linked to the basic nature of what each element is. Freely moving, hard to contain. That's Ba Gua(sp?), that's Airbending. Flowing with the world, using your own force against yourself(stick your hand flatly in a bucket of water, now slap it, notice a diffence?) That's Tai Chi, that's Waterbending. Forceful, aggressive, yet graceful, that's Northern Shaolin, that's Firebending. Strong, powerful, steadlong, that's Hung Gar, that's Earthbending. Different people have different levels of chi and differetn limits on their bending. But, through training a bender can hone their control and open up a world of new moves and attacks. Still, it's all tied to the martial arts movements. You can't "flick your wrist" and cause a tornado in Avatar, even if you're and Airbender, no more than you can crack your knuckles really fast and blow fire out your ears in Naruto. (There's a few exceptions, breathing fire or gusts of air aren't kung fu, but breating is essential in any physical activity)

There probably won't be any hyper detailed explaination, because since this is in a land existing in a time comperable to the English thinking they could cure psykosis by drilling holes in your head. Maybe if they fast forward a hundred years or so someone in the Avatar universe would know enough about the body to give an official explaination. Until then, well there you go.

Heres how the characters are accept funny versions. Waang: A painfully saccharine and wide-eyed little boy who loves to torture animals and is supposed to save the world with the power of blasphemous godly Jap magic. His innocent appearance masks his perverted fantasies of plugging the only girl who will talk to him. Fangirls insist he is a 'smooth ladies man', even though the last time he's seen a some great pu*** is when he was born. Shotacon gold. Katara: An Eskimo with the amazing ability to throw water at things, all around uppity Mary Sue who berates about everyone else's problems and won't admit to any of her own. The object of Waang's hormonal desires. Has an army of batS*** online fangirls and fanboys who will viciously defend her retarded behavior when they're not beating off to child pornz. Sokka: Karara's useless asspie brother. Has a boomerang, despite the fact that he doesn't live in Australia. Also shotacon gold. Toft: A tiny blind dyke who specializes in throwing rocks at people. Uses her feet to see, people with foot fetishes LOVE her. Zuko: A naval-gazing, emo burn victim mama's boy with daddy issues who goes through more character and costume changes than anyone else in the freakin show because the writers couldn't decide who the hell he's supposed to be. Obsessed over by fangirls.
Same can be done to Naruto. Sakura: A wannabe Sasuke Fangirl ***** that was totally a waste of space and then tried to act all crushed when Kakashi finally told her off. Sasuke: A whiny-ass little boy that had his WHOLE TEAM watching his back and then he turns on em. Not only that, he plots to destroy the village. WTF!? Orochimaru:A pedophile.. nuff said. I can do the whole list of characters.
Not really valid. Sakura's not a fangirl anymore. Seriously, at least get your facts right.

He probably didn't have time to watch the four seasons the transition must've taken.

Naruto had no family and the village hated him he had no family memebers hidden in the leaf.
Let's say 2. Toph, a blind girl who's always been "cuddled" because of her disability, her parents in a sense, FORBID her to earthbend.
So everytime we bring up a character with a past, you're only gonna use that Sasuke Trump Card.. that's pretty sad.

Cause having your family already dead sure is worse than ONE FREAKING FOURTH OF THE WORLD killed in your absense and thinking it's your fault, right?

That hasn't hurt him nearly as bad as the incident changed Sasuke.

I was just popping in and then I see that! He was 10, but... I'm sorry. ...So, what kind of brutal Naruto VS Avatar useless ramble did I miss out on? Or is this actually worth the explanation- though, I think my fellow Avatar fans already covered most of the show with minimum results. Silly flamers who makes an excuse for a thread about 'debate.'
