Before you guys start, remember if you don't like it don't post and let the people that are interested respond. What i love about Avatar is that it is the only American Cartoon that is worth watching today, it has a great story, great characters and an awesome character development.

It's the only cartoon with any real ambition to be an actual story and purpose rather than "entertain a child for 24 minutes".

The creators gave the characters??amazing depth and perspective, which is rare in cartoons these days, or ever for that matter. ??

because it has a plot line. Spongebob and most others do not.

Because it's got Toph! YEAH! Plus, it's not like other good shows, like....Freakazoid!, which is a good and funny show, but Avatar has a plot line, so its easier to get immersed? in the storyline. The characters are really well thought out, too. Especially Toph.

I like Avatar because it is so realistic (although it is fantasy) and because of the adventure. It has very interesting plots and characters you can relate to. Plus, it has its funny moments! The animation is wonderful, and the whole story is awesome and entertaining!

Great execution of the elemental world concept
Amazing designs and detail into stuff from weapons to creatures to costumes and settings Epic storyline
Large cast of loveable characters with depth
    Sidekicks who actually kick butt
    Tightly-written episodes with great dialogue
Great sense of drama when needed
TONS of funny dialogue and comedy
Far and Away consistently the best martial arts action scenes in an animated TV show Doesn't hold back or talk down to the still young audience in terms of stuff like relationships
Dual-sided parallel storyline between the protagonist (Aang) and anti-hero Zuko
Quality animation (for the most part)
    Great voice acting Awesome music
Accessible for both kids and adults

That's just off the top of my head...

I'm not going to talk about how Avatar's animation is good or how it is the best cartoon. First of all, it gives a lot of people the ability??to fantasize about how they could be in the show. Sometimes, I have dreams about Avatar and that I am in the episodes(I will not lie.) Also, Avatar had a very good plot where people can make up their own endings or how the episode will fold out. The show is funny and can relate to our lives to day. This makes the show very appealing and makes it worth watching!

It has heart.Something that cartoons never have these days. The characters have substantial depth. The stories are extremely well written. Also it's just awesome to see Aang whoop everybody when he gets in his Avatar state.

LOL, you just read my mind, didnt you?
anyways, i agree with all of you (including the Toph-fan's, cause im one of them rofl).

i also think that they did an excellent job in writing the episodes without making any important mistakes which would mess up the plots, and most of all, the wonderfull conversations we're having about Avatar lol.
i mean, if they wouldnt be that consistent in making no mistakes, we wouldnt be able to do so right? Now we dont have to worry about possible mistakes the writers would make.

Wow, nothing left to say really. It's title should really be Avatar: The Last Good Show Out There. Its got everything, and its the only show that has EVER made me cry. The best thing? How the creators aren't afraid to put genecide, war, death, love/kissing, and deep characters into a "kid show". The music is by far the greatest music ever to hit this planet. All those aliens out there, are like damn, we need tv so we can watch this.

i suppose what caught my attention first was??how it dives into??a world of fantasy, not being afraid to tell a story about things completely out of our own world

i'm a huge Hayao Miyazaki fan, and after i was already hooked on Avatar i bought the DVD boxed set and listened to the interview with the creators - after i heard them say they took a lot of inspiration from Hayao Miyazaki, i was like "No wonder I love this show so much!!"

i could sit here and list all the other reasons i like it, but pretty much you'd be hard pressed to find something i dislike lol
