Have you ever noticed how other cartoon/anime shows like literally pull you aside form what's going on, and just flat out tell you the whole plot or secret or just information on something that's happening. With Avatar everything that happens is so fluid and natural. No kinks or annoying little "so this is how it works" scenes. |
here's a short list:
the comedy
the ass kicking action
the chimera animals (hog monkey, rabbiroo, platypus bear, etc.)
The Bear.?? You know what i'm talking about, the Earth King's bear from 'City of Walls and Secrets'.?? I have the distinct feeling we'll be seeing him in tonight's episode, but don't quote me on that.?? i have no idea.
Tales of Ba Sing Se was fantastic, especially since i got to write a story for my character.
and finally, the one reason i continue to watch the show and will watch it until the end of the series: Lake Laogai.?? 'Nuff said.
I love this show because it?? has a lot of adventures.

Great execution of the elemental world concept Amazing designs and detail into stuff from weapons to creatures to costumes and settings Epic storyline Large cast of loveable characters with depth Sidekicks who actually kick butt Tightly-written episodes with great dialogue Great sense of drama when needed TONS of funny dialogue and comedy Far and Away consistently the best martial arts action scenes in an animated TV show Doesn't hold back or talk down to the still young audience in terms of stuff like relationships Dual-sided parallel storyline between the protagonist (Aang) and anti-hero Zuko Quality animation (for the most part) Great voice acting Awesome music Accessible for both kids and adults That's just off the top of my head... |
Wow Cdripper! I completely agree, I never?? would have thought of all that though. Now my thoughts!
At first, I was pulled in by the elemental bending and the whole ancient fantasy feel. When I saw it more I loved the fluidity of the animation, and the complexity of the story. Also as other people said, in general there's no blotchy "What the heck just happened" kind of stuff and no,?? "I'm going to defeat you like this..". scenes. The character development is amazing, and how the animators actually change the appearence of the characters in different situations (Sleepy eyes, shrinking muscle, growing hair) is great too!
Why do I love Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Because the show is a??profound spiritual metaphor for our??present day and age??and is the animated equivalent of 'The Lord of the Rings'??as far as successfully creating exquisite,??classic, epic storytelling with huge amounts of symbolism and??resourceful resolutions to ageless human moral dilemmas.
(Oh yeah, it's just that deep)
