WHY MUST THEY TAUNT US SO???? US!!!!! THEIR LOYAL FOLLOWERS!!!!!!!!!! Okay, now that I got that out of my system, this topic is about why people involve with Avatar their viewers by having to wait long periods for the next episode. Also to relive their stress about the matter. |

It's Nick that's doing it, not the staff. Nick enjoys torturing us with the INSURMOUNTABLE TWO WEEKS BREAKS WITH ENORMOUS CLIFFHANGERS!!!!! Ok...now that that's out of my system. The Earth King had the best and most unexpected ending of the entire series so far. It's a superb episode. Kudos to the writing staff! |
I agree completely with SapphireS.
Kudos and lots of muffins to Mike and Bryan, future rulers of the cartoon world.
Actually, I heard and REALLY want to believe that the new season will greet us with the New Year. It was said at the PMX convention thingie, I guess. Us loyal, faithful....*100 minutes later* ...fantastically splendiforus fans can only hope/pray/chant/etc. that it starts then ^^;;;

Yes kudos the the writing staff for bringing us the Avatar and YES, Nick likes to just draw out the ratings since all the episodes for this season are complete, they just don't want to show them yet.
BUT a superb episode??? I don't think so.?? Unexpected ending... not hardly.?? There have been numerous posts in this forum speculating that Azula and friends were gonna penetrate into Ba Sing Se with the Kyoshi Warrior uniforms.?? Toph being captured by Master Yu and Xin Fu was just a matter of time to further that storyline.?? Afterall we've yet to have something started that was never completed.?? Aang going to the Guru... well hey we all knew that was gonna happen.?? Zuko's sickness... well they did a twist with this one but this began when he cut his ponytail off in "The Avatar State", turmoil began to stir in Zuko Alone and Bitter Work, realization sinks in with Tales of Ba Sing Se and Lake Laogai which means the next logical step in this type of scenario is a 'rebirth' of the character.
So the writers did a great job tying it all together but the episode itself was disappointing.?? As masterofaeons pointed out on another thread, the 'convince the Earth King' was too drawn out.?? That time could have been spent showing what did happen during the battle with the Kyoshi Warriors or better yet, a tribute to Jet and his final resting place (i.e. Smellerbee and Longshot on a hillside kinda like Iroh with his son).

That's wierd. Because I found more satisfaction in this one episode than i did SotFN. And it bothers me a bit. But you are right, that time could've been spent on something else. But remember; that Earth King was deprived of outside things. Here he was all these years, being told something so long by one guy and finding out suddenly that everything he knew was a lie? That has to take a while to adjust to. |
I dunno, my hubby liked it, he said I had 'too high' an expectation.?? I just found it a S-T-R-E-T-C-H that not only was the Earth King in the dark but so was his General and all the soldiers.?? Did the Dai Le have them all brainwashed as well?!?!?? What about soldiers that may have come from other parts of the Earth Kingdom.?? Like the Dai Le soldier said in the end, the Dai Le is loyal to Long Feng but the General and his??5 (or whatever he said) were loyal to the King... so why couldn't they help convince him there was a War???
