I don't always vote for Katara. Yes, I vote for her against Toph, Azula, and Zuko, but definately not everyone. I don't think she would stand up to Aang if Aang really went offensive. I think Pakku could beat her, Bumi could beat her (1 on 1)...can't think of anyone else. (For bolded) So? I don't think they should have made Toph come into the show being this 12 year old outcast with her family. People say they "upped" Katara's power simply for the plot of the episode, isn't that what they do with most characters? Toph could have been a novice earthbender, but then she wouldn't be able to teach Aang. The whole show goes together well and everything happens for the soul purpose of plot advancement. Frankly I don't think Toph should be "that good" also. She should NOT be the "best earthbender alive" when shes only 12. Now that is most definately stretching reality, even in Avatar world. None of the younger ones should be considered the best because they don't have enough experience, therefore Toph should have her ass kicked in Season 3, which prolly won't happen since shes popular and it might be accused of ridiculing the disabled. I agree that they over-powered Toph. She doesn't fight anyone anymore because she is too powerful. It sucks. I also think that since she has had six years to get that good. I don't know why you can't agree that the creators wrote themselves into a hole by making Toph too powereful AND accelerating Katara way too fast. I've already said that Toph can't beat everyone. In a post on this thread I said that. But that doesn't mean that I don't think Katara is going to win. Its a matter of training and experiance. Don't talk about the disability as if it were a safeguard. That was a needless comment.
