I agree that Aang is not going to die. The term "the last airbender" is most likely referring to the fact that he is the last airbender after the FN wiped out the air nomads other than him. In the season 1 & 2 finales, Katara saves him (from Azula's lightning in S2 and from Zuko in S1). I can't help but wonder if she's going to have to save him again.
I also don't think she learned bloodbending for nothing, but I don't know if she'll have to use it to save him. I just think we'll see her use it one more time.

he most certainly is NOT the last avatr! that can only happen if he's dead, and surely evidence of that would have been shown through a complete loss in his power!? as it clearly is the case, aang has already visited the spirit world (in "avatar and the firelord"...even in the avatar escape game which the creators claim is cannon) after his encounter at basingsei. the past avatars did not claim any such thing. so no, i disagree.
