What was the point of Jin?

    He's right...how dare we imagine anything different than what he says...Jin could just as easily let it slip that??she went on a date with??a guy with a scar??while Azula and her crew is walking around in Ba Sing Se(not as crazy as it sounds trust me) and from there anything could happen...

    If Jin does make another appearence it will have to happen before the end of the season, and considering how many other plotlines have to be resolved before the end of the season it would probably be for only a few minutes tops.

    as for the actual topic, as I've said before Jin was never designed to be a major character with a fully developed personality and backstory. She was designed solely to help further develop Zuko and show him how to be a normal teen for a change.
    to achieve that she was designed to be a completly average and normal teen herself, no tragic past, no over the top personality traits, not a bender, nothing. Think about all the OCs out there that writers cook up, horrible pasts, mysterious powers, always a bender, ect. Jin was completely average in every sense.

    Why so many people feel so strongly against her is beyond me.
    I'm not even that much of a fan, i just don't like it when perfectly good characters that did what they were designed to do get put down.

    She's the one person who's expressed a romantic interest in Zuko. She'd be a perfect match for him, IMO.

    I agree that Jin was there to show how confused Zuko is and now it shows more from the LL episode.?? Iroh was able to bring him to his senses so he could see how wrong he was.?? Is Jin going to be back as a character.?? Who knows.?? It is up to the writers.?? Maybe a major raid is going to occur on Ba Sing Se and she dies.?? That fuels Zuko's rage to finally switch sides to the Gaang.?? Maybe Iroh will die.?? We really can't tell.

    I agree. I think Jin's out. Her purpose was to show the actual humanity and normality of Zuko at heart, and that mission was well accomplished. I think she's done. I don't see her going anywhere. If she were coming back, we would know more of her personality other than she eats a lot.

    Personally, I don't think she's done enough for Zuko yet. She needs to really get to know him, and get on his tender side so he learns to open up to others.

    This is just my opinion, but I think the two would make a great couple.

    I love Jen! She had so many dimensions (almost 2!) and was ultra cute! It was like we took a character from a real Nickelodeon show without personality and without humor or intrigue and ported her in to this world because she's oho sooo cool! I can't wait to see more of her! *giggles*

    From what I have seen the writers are not planning on showing jin again, but are open to the possibility. I also wanted to make one thing clear, when I said it showed that zuko was confused, I meant sexually, zuko is gay Yeah lets so fan girls take that!

    First of all, Jin's appearance is consistent with traditions of Avatar. In addition to Aang, Katara had Haru, Jet, and Teo(?). In addition to Suki, Sokka had/has Yue, Ty Lee(?), and those girls at the Haiku-Off. Zuko had Song, Mai, and Jin. It's an Avatar thing.

    Second of all, proverbial one-episode-stands for major characters are hardly unheard of. If Captain Kirk could have 100+ 1-episode-long romances, Zuko can have at least one.

    Third of all, just like Suki's and Jet's reappearances, there is the possibility she will make a return when we're least expecting it (even though I doubt it myself).

    Fourth of all, the fans wanted it. Shakespeare only wrote what he knew people would come to see. Louisa May Alcott only wrote Little Women because her publisher??requested it. Writing what fans want to see is practical;??it's not a crime.
