Supposedly each book shows how Aang masters each element, so WTF is wrong with this, during this season 2 we have only seen one episode where Aang actually is learning earthbending, and that was enough to almost master it!!!

Just one day, to learn the complicated arts of bending the element of earth!!! it took YEARS for other avatars to learn and master one element, but aang can do it on one day!!! That's wrong. I know that he has little time before the comet arrives, but why doesn't the season concentrate more on aang learning earth?? At the end of "bitter Work" he could move a rock, and now he can make stone walls like he has been earth bending all his life!!

For book 1 it was the same only one episode of aang actually learning to bend it!

DON'T YOU GUYS THING THAT BENDING LEARNING SHOULD BE SLOWER?? AND THAT EPISODES SHOULD CONCENTRATE A LITTLE MORE ON AANG ACTUALLY LEARINIG TO BEND??

i think there is a amnount of time set between each episode so aang could b learning earthbending with Toph between episodes that we dont see.

Just because we don't see Aang training at Earthbending doesn't mean he isn't...remember in "The Library"? Aang said "I'm learning the elements as fast as I can. I practice hard with Katara and Toph everyday. I've been??training my arrow off." (maybe not word for word but something like that)

I know what you're sayin. but supposedly since he's the Avatar, he??learns it after one episode. Even though it seems like learning water took him like half a season.

Katara didn't know alot about Waterbending her own self...they didn't finally get a true Master to teach them until??3rd to last episode of the first season

yah but i cant see a lot Aang earthbending since he is airbender. in the "Serpents Pass" Toph does all the earthbending. Though "The Tales of Ba Sing Se" Aang demonstates his skill by creating the zoo thing. its hard at least for me to see Roku waterbending even though he knew them all. i just think Roku would use firebending more/ but i contradict myself on how seeing Kyoshi use earth and air combination so well ( creating kysohi island). but of course the avatar will always find a situation that he or she will need to use all of them. i just think Aang focuses most on airbending since he was Katara and Toph with him.

I'm sure you can say aang been learning between the parts of the show that we don't see. But I think the question is why don't we see aang going though the learning process more often, learn new tricks and abilities in front of our eyes rather then seeing him clueless one episode and then filled with M4D L33T Sk1LL the next episode.

i think we don't actually see him learn the bending because it would take time and more episodes than was originally planned. if we did see him, that would take like 5 episodes to learn every single little technique and stuff....so yeah

sometimes the amount of time in an episode or between two episodes isn't clearly stated, so yea that can cause some confusion. I agree I would like to see more episodes with Aang learning some SWEET bending

I really agree with you about how the earthbending process should have been slower and had more episodes. Especially since it's the coolest bending (with a tie with Firebending of course). BUT Aang hasn't mastered Earthbending just yet. First, remember what King Boomi said about the secret technique who used to earthbend while being caged. Aang sure hasn't learned how to do that. And remember how Aang wasn't allowed to spring Sokka out of the hole he was because Toph knew he might hurt Sokka. All of this shows that Aang has MUCH more to learn about Earthbending and he will obviously do that in future episodes.

Remember that Aang has a limited amount of time to learn the bending arts. In the Summer, Sozen's comet will return and it'll be all over for the world.

Watching training is boring.?? Training episodes are more about epihpanies than the actual training.?? There'd be a lot of episodes of Aang just working to correct his technique.?? It's boring to have a sequence where the sole purpose is to hear "widen our stance" or "keep your hands up."?? The biggest problem Aang had with earthbending was the core principle of being an immovable object.?? Now that he understands, he can use his understanding of airbending and waterbending to learn it.

Toph did all the earthbending in Serpent's Pass because it made the most strategic sense.?? Each one would go to their strongest ability while in such a potentially dangerous situation.?? Aang may be improving in earthbending, but he wouldn't have the range of skills and the instinctive experience that would be needed.?? That was something that was done in Bitter Work as well.?? Katara threw the sharp reed at Aang, and he instantly reacted using waterbending instead of airbending.

Actually, they have until the *end* of summer. At the rate he's learning, I think Aang will do fine

We may not have seen him practicing lately, but I was pleased to hear Aang talk to Sokka and Katara about something philosophic Toph taught him:
Toph has been teaching me that you shouldn???t [put all] your energy into any one strike... You [should] be quick and accurate, hit a series of points, and break your opponent???s stance. [Then,] when he???s reeling back, you deliver the final blow. His own weight becomes his downfall.

I personally don't think Aang has ,mastered any of the elements, even air. He left the Southern air temple before he had completed his training, which means that there are still some techniques he was not taught. Now seeing as how he is the avatar, he may have simply picked them up from experience and practice be he has not mastered them.

The same can be said of both water and earth. While he can use them in battle he is not a master by any means. He would not be able to deafeat either Bumi or Paku if he strickly used their respective elements.

The other Avatars had years to practice and learn the elements before mastering them. Aang is being given more of a crash course.

Aang is certainly a master level airbender, the creators confirmed this when they said the arrow tatoos represent mastery of the element

It is possible because of the absense of earthbending lessons in this season, that next season will be about learning firebending, and we'll probably see alot more episodes where Aang is practicing. We caught a "session" of firebending in the Deserter but if Aang found a real firebender that was going to teach him, I think that would be alot more exciting to watch him learn firebending instead of watching him learn earthbending.

but before Aang learns Firebending...the whole "I'm never going to Firebend again" thing...he sounded pretty sure...that'll probably be the first episode of the next season where they talk about it
