This is what you do to find out what happened to Azula. Go to www.nick.com and go to the Avatar webpage (it'll automatically take you to Book 3. Click on any of the white dots and then after the page loads it'll give you a list of all of the chapters at the bottom of the page. Click on 320 and then "Characters" on the top. Then click on Azula. It will tell you that Azula got shipped off to a mental health facility where she is supervised around the clock.

    What do you think?

That sounds like it was made up. I don't know... It just sounds off.

    It does sound off.

They have mental health facilities in the Avatar world? I thought back in the good old days they just threw the crazies into regular prisons.

That doesn't sound too far-fetched. After watching the finale anyone could have arrived at a conclusion similar to this. We all knew she'd be locked up somewhere, but the question is where. The Avatar universe has always had semi-modern concepts and ideas intertwined within it. For example, the characters don't speak with old dialect, the earth trains in Ba Sing Se, volleyball in The Beach, and the use of machinery. It's always been a blend of modernism, eastern culture, and a compound of different historical time periods.

Given the level of civilization of the societies in the show, it would have made more sense to use the word "asylum" rather than "mental health facility." It sounds too PC. Unless, maybe Zuko felt sorry for her and sent her to a "spa," which was where all of the wealthy nuts used to go. I'm sure wherever she went, though, she's heavily guarded.

I wouldn't trust nick.com if you look at the ember island characters the person who did Aang look completely different infact the character looks like a boy.

and the southern raiders characters shows a picture of a firenation soldier onder katara's mother's name.

I also noticed on the Burning Rock, they have Hakoda as a fire nation soldier or something ridiculous.

I saw this and it seems congruous with the way we last saw Azula.

If such a mental health facility exists, I can see it being used for the military. I agree, the Avatar world has a lot of "modern" technologies. Especially the Fire Nation. I guess the question is... Is this a place where people go to get help or... The creepy insane asylum with all the crazies and babbling, drooling... You get the idea. :X

I want to see Aang going to visit Azula in a scene reminiscent of Clarice Starling meeting Hannibal Lecter in "The Silence of the Lambs." XD

Funny thing is... they didn't take away her bending.

Course, that would have been a "fate worse than death" for her, and would probably have destroyed her psyche completely.

So as long as she has bending... I say she has a chance. Years of secret practice could hone some technique that would allow her to melt the constraints and break out.

    So says I.

No, not Aang... Zuko. They'd have a lot to say to each other... esp during the cold cold nights... Good call on Lecter, though. Parallels are obvious.

True, Zuko and Azula do have a lot to talk about. But Aang is closer to Starling's personality than Zuko. Y'know, all wide-eyed and innocent.

I love to see that! :-)

Azula: "Quid pro quo, Aang. I tell you things, you tell me things."

    .......................

Azula: "No "just", Aang. What set you off the temple? You started at what time?

    Aang: Early, still dark.

Azula: Then something woke you, didn't it? Was it a dream? What was it?

Aang: I heard a strange noise in Gyatso's room.

    Azula: What was it?

Aang: It was... noise. Some kind of moan, like someone's in pain.

Azula: What did you do? Aang: I went outside. I flew up into his window. I was so scared to look inside, but I had to.

Azula: And what did you see, Aang? What did you see?

    Aang: They were naked

Azula: They were naked? Aang: And they were (censored).

    Azula: And you ran away?

Aang: No. First I tried to get an explanation. I... I tried knocking on the window, but they wouldn't stop. They just (bleep) there.

Azula: Then you ran away didn't you?

Aang: Yes. I took Appa, and I ran away as fast as I could.

Azula: Where were you going, Aang?

Aang: I don't know. I didn't have any food, any water and it was very cold, very cold. I didn't get more than a few miles when the storm came. I never saw Monk Gyatso or any of my friends again.

Azula: What became of your precious Airbenders, Aang?

Aang: They killed them. The Fire Nation Killed Them!

I can never imagine seeing a mental hospital in the Avatar world. Nick.com has messed up on Avatar stuff other times before, so I kinda have my doubts on their version of Azula's fate.

Yeah, though I don't think it'll involve much *talking*. Unless it's, you know, the language of the flesh.

I think we need to move this discussion to the "adult" thread.
