    The Fire Lord leads. He doesn't belong on the battle field because he could get hurt, leaving his nation without a leader. He issues orders, encourages, punishes, and all that good stuff.

    I like your spirit idea. It just seems to me though that the "Phoenix Lord" thing is just a title, I don't see it having a major effect on aynthing that's going on already. He's pretty much the leader of the world already, except for the water tribes.

I think if bryke were to make a title with an animal that hasn't yet to be introduced, they would have something to say about that title. i would agree with you if bryke weren't the creators.but i dont think they would give him an emty title with out a least a reason. but i also don't think it'll have a large effect in the plot.

    Yeah, it's gotta have a big effect on the plot, I just don't know what it is yet. So to me right now, I don't think it will have a huge effect. I'm 100% sure Bryke will prove me wrong. (I can't freaking wait to see the finale!!!!!)

    pretty much. I thought that the point of being a surpreme ruler was to have the work already done for you.

    For an imperialist nation to work, you need a big time guy willing to order the unthinkable to be done. If there isn't someone commanding it to be done, people aren't going to invest the nation's resources on their own.
