How long does it take to grow cabbages? Certainly not a week or two! The health inspectors were probably concerned that he would accidentally bring in vermin from the outside that might damage an ecosystem unaccustomed to them. If he had grown the cabbages inside Ba Sing Se, he wouldn't be introducing some alien vermin. Until he can grow some of his own cabbages within the city limits of Ba Sing Se to sell, he's consigned to being a cabbage reseller.
I've been wondering the same thing, but I still haven't figured out how he does it. But come on, he's the cabbage man, we will never really understand him.

Also, in... I don't remember which eppy, the one where Iroh and Zuko get employed at the tea shop, Iroh is complaining that his apron is too tight, and you can see that the strings at the back don't touch each other. Then when the dude who employed them leaves to get more string, the back of his apron has, like, 3 knots in it!!!!

Does this drive anyone else insane?!?!?!?! AM I THE ONLY PERFECTIONIST HERE?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

No way. Not by a long shot. Hmmm... I never noticed that. I noticed Iroh's apron was tied, but not the knots. I guess the creators and writers are more concerned with the plot than with the minor details. That or they just like messing with us, which I could totally see them doing.

In the drill episode at the very end iroh sees the couple who the gaang helped through the serpents pass. Iroh comments on the baby being handsome and the couple says thank you in response to his comment. But in the serpents pass they say the baby is a girl. lol i found that a little strange.

Ive also noticed in this episode that the person in charge of the dai lee throwing the rocks at the drill remarks to the gaang that noone has ever penetrated the walls of ba sing se except that dragon of the west. Well in zuko alone we are informed that Iroh and his army penetrated the walls of ba sing se like wtf is going on here so many mistakes.

I thought Iroh was the dragon of the west. I could be wrong but some reason I thought that.

    1. Iroh thinking the baby was a boy was a joke.

    2. Iroh WAS the Dragon of the West.

Calling a baby handsome is acceptable because it's very difficult to determine the gender of an infant, and the parents knew he was complimenting their baby.?? Handsome is actually a unisex term.?? I've heard it used to describe women, though it isn't very common.?? Possibly because it's harder to have a single term to compliment women uniformally.?? Some women don't want to be beautiful; they want to be sexy.?? Some don't want to be cute; they want to be beautiful.?? Some vice versa.?? Some may not quite meet the standards of those terms.?? All men want to be considered handsome.

Yes I suppose Iroh was the dragon of the west now that I think about it. I forgot, can't rememeber which episode we learn that in though. Does anyone know?

It was in "The Spirit World" aka "Winter Solstice Part 1". The Earth Kingdom captain says it when they captured Iroh in the hot springs.

Well, this isn't really weird, but I've been watching the rerun eps and notice some of the same music in the newer eps were in the older ones too. Seige of the North when Sokka recieves the warrior marks on his forehead, the 'four seasons, four loves, music plays. And Seige (second part) when Momo jumps on Zhao and pulls his sideburns, that funny music Momo dances to in 'Tales of BSS' is playing. I'm sure there are more examples, but it's just cool to see the continuity throughout the series.

    "The Drill."

There were soooo many things wrong with that episode. The Drill itself had so many problems... it looked like something, and then there were all sorts of references in it.

    Subliminal, anyone? xD

(If you don't get what I'm talking about, go watch the episode.)

Yeah, that happends a lot. That's sometimes just to get the viewer to associate that music with Momo or whenever it plays (like sense-sense memory).

Uh, don't you remember? Uncle Iroh said a few seconds earlier if it came in a larger size, and then their boss said that they had some string in the back. Obviously it then skipped a few minutes of the story in which Iroh went and got string. And if there were 3 knots, then there were 2 pieces of string that Iroh used. It would look like this:
    ====0-----0-------0======
Where = is the apron string, 0 is a knot, and the - is the string he got from the back.

Also, did anyone else notice that in "The Storm" when Aang was sitting in the cave and Katara came up behind him, Katara's shadow passed over Aang, but Aang still had the shadow of the raindrops on his back. O_O

OK, here's something I noticed but can probably be proven. All the time Aang and everybody else is getting beatup, falling from great heights, and all that good stuff. But the only person to ever get something broken that I can remember is the canyon guide. Everyone else just gets blocked chi, burns, scars, and bruises. I don't get it. I guess to get a broken bone you have to be crunched on by a canyon crawler. ?
