Uncle Iroh is a character that must be closely watched.?? He's is cloaked as a old, chubby, and silly man, but do not be fooled.?? What I have observed is that he is a man that has become more complete/wiser when he lost his son.??????If you really pay attention between the interaction with him an Prince Zuku, you can plainly see that he is trying to help him grow as a man.?? Zuku is full of pride (too much), he is trying to hard to please his father.?? Uncle Iroh has taught him more than just fire bending, he is has taught him??humiity, patience, the look outside the fire nation (the look of a commoner's eye), etc.?? There is no doubt that the Prince has learned a lot on his own, butI believe that Iroh knew he would get frustrated and venture out on his own (another lesson).?? The Fire Lord will regret the day he banished his son, it will come back to bite him.?? I belive there will be an?? IMPORTANT??point in the series where Prince Zuku will be his father's??crucial (at that moment) pawn in the war.?? Zuku will has and will have changed a lot and will not abide by his father.?? Which is a huge step for him.?? There are several things that could happen, he could become the Avatar's greatest ally, hmmm he and his uncle are the only fire benders behind the wall of Bey Sing Se.?? Hmmm, I wonder if his father will need him to sabatoge Be Sing Se from the inside out.?? Anyways, Uncle Iroh is a very likeable character and is a big reason for Prince Zuku's life changes!

    I really enjoy this series!!!

Yep pivatol character, who for some reason they saw needed more anime effects this season just to come off as funny. Seriously what's up with that?

i was watching the siege of the north part 2 and i heard something funny. Zhao was talking to Iroh about killing the moon and iroh told him not to and then Zhao said something like "ive heard tales of your journeys to the spirit world iroh..."?? And i was wondering what this meant. Foes anyone know?

This is very true.?? From watching episodes in the first season alone, you can see that no matter how much Zuko tries to act independent, he would clearly fall apart if it wasnt for Uncle.?? He holds him to sanity and to his humanity.?? After his loss at Ba Sing Sei, it seems as though Iroh is no longer a ruthless firebending general, but instead someone who is viewing this war as needless, and it simply trying to enjoy his life, and try to help is nephew, who has become a son to him, through this world.?? After the Blue Spirit Episode, no matter how selfish Zuko's intentions were, you can already see that he is questioning what he's doing for the fire nation, and this is further shown in the episode with only Zuko.

I speak and write in four diffrent languages so words that are spelled or pronounced in English (your only dialect) are not in others. For instance, in english, Sayain is spelled like that, but in Japanese (not Kanji or Katikana) it is spelled in Sayaijin, In Mandarin and Japenese there is no letter "L". ETC...

mrshock13, good points. I think his loss at Ba Sing Sei and the loss of his son altered his lefe a great deal. Uncle Iroh is like a father, a better father to the Prince. And yes, he is definately enjoying life!!!

    sad japenese and chinese folks
i got a great dutch word wich begins with an L

but he/she isn't trying to correct your english he/she is just saying that you pronounced the names wrong and as far as i know words are words and names are names and that's why they are not the same sorry couldn't help myself.

but maybe it is pronounced diffrently in chinese/japanees i don't know but it would give you some reason to say it like that i gues...

don't really know what i'm trying to say btw....

I think lionfamlee is saying he/she gets confused sometimes because he/she has to transfer between multiple languages and the spelling rules are all different.

I get that but i don't get how those names are changed since spelling in western languages should never change a name, but ofcourse that could be(probaly is) diffrent in japan and china...
i don't know so i guess i take my words back becuz i don't know anything about it...

?? I am an american and can speak and write English perfectly, but have traveled a lot in my years and have picked up multiple languages.?? I sometimes mix in words, letters ands sometimes even change the structure of sentence order.?? So you may all see me spell words like spell sperr.??

?? Back on topic, I hope uncle Iroh further teaches the Avatar firebending.

Iroh would be the best, but if not him, definitely the Order of the White Lotus.

Thanks Faldwin, that's what I was trying to say. Plus I use 2 multiple character key boards. It does get confusing from time to time. Names are not usually altered, but the way they are pronounced are.

    I get it

well as you said back on topic.
well the avatar (aang for short) hasn't yet (really) learned how to bend fire the little bits that he learned or rather didn't learn weren't thought by iroh but by jeong jeong (the deserter guy).
just wanted to take that out of circulation else there'll be allot of people making topics about that.

Right, I know that jeong jeong taught Aang how to fire bend, but I was saying that I hope Iroh teaches Aang how to master it.??
