| I think that Aang is going to have to "trade"??Toph for??Sppa somehow with the kidnappers. If it was my choice I'd have her go back home late season two, have the guy in the intro finish teaching Aang earthbending, and have her come back to the group in early season three. |
Toph - originally a boy

They probably felt that having 3 boys in the group and only 1 gitl was abit to uneven

Something bad is definitely going to happen to Toph. Aang saw her in the Swamp, and the swamp guy told them that the Swamp gives people visions of people they had cared about, people that were gone. Then he said that time is an illusion, and that is why Aang was able to see someone that he didn't know yet. Anyway, the point is that since Aang saw a vision of Toph in the Swamp, that means two things. One, Aang cares about Toph - it could be just as a friend or it could be a possible Tophaang pairing (I hope it's the former) - and two, Toph is going to disappear/die.

It is so hard to say "But I BELIEVE they were?"
You don't know everything. I'm simply stating my opinion. Do you really think that the creators envisioned a male Toph giggling through the swamp? The only answer is, that they didn't have the swamp planned. And if they didn't have the Swamp planned, who's to say what they did and didn't have planned in the first place? I simply said what I would do if it was my choice.[/QUOTE]
oh and about if seven year olds can handle death.....i'm sure arthur or franklin or little bear or somebody had a goldfish that died once and everyone was really sad, but they delt with it.
While the swamp episode did leave some pretty convincing arguments, it also lead Aang to Toph (because he would never have persisted Toph to teach him if he hadn't "seen" her in the swamp). Maybe it was fate that lead the two together and, thus, fate that Toph would eventually pass on...

| Well! I just went through 57 posts of discussion on this. the swamp guy ALSO said DEATH, as well as time, was an illusion. So they could THINK Toph dies or somehting, and make the viewers think that too, then it'll turn out Toph is really alive somewhere, somehow, cause she never died in the first place. Ya know, illusion. |
Still, I don't want Toph to die. I will be very upset if she does.
