They've been raising the pitch of his voice for all of season 3, what you heard in that commercial was Zach Tyler's real voice (the kid is 14).

Really? That was Zach's real voice? Why can't they use that voice in the show? Aang would sound really cool like that.

    Because Aang is still 12

Zach started off 12, but, he's now 14 and his voice changing so, they wanted to keep Aang's voice the same throughout the show by chnging the pitch of his current voice to match Aang's voice.

    Exactly.

But i hope we get atleast one quote from Aang with Zach's real voice, that would sound so epic.

Yeah, like when he's facing the Fire Lord, have Aang say something in Zach's real voice. We'd have to post Aang epic win pics.

Maybe at the end of the series during the monologue that ties up all the loose ends, he'll use his real voice. :|

Well, after 3 three years, I'd think that his voice would change and the creators wanted to have the same voice for Aang so, they changed the pitch to match Aang's voice.

And we know that Zach's voice has been changing because of Aang's commercial on TV. Zach used his real voice to narrate it.

About the pitch raising; I didn't know about that until the interview. But with his voice changing, I've been noticing slowly throughout S3. When I went back to S2, I noticed that there were some episode where his voice was a little cracky. Not terribly cracky; more scratchy than anything. But yeah, I really noticed in FBM.

I was watching "The Ant Bully" on CN a few days. I mostly watched it because Zach does the kid's voice. It was an alright movie, but I was mostly paying attention to what Zach was saying. XD

    Haha. I've done both.

I love Zach's real voice, but it's true that it doesn't sound like a twelve-year-old. So it makes sense that he would raise the pitch. But it was cool how he did the commercial like that. But I wonder why? He's still technically in-character because he IS narrating as Aang -- why didn't he raise the pitch then?

They'll probably have Aang talk in Zach's real voice once Katara makes an honest man out of him.
