I don't think our social commentary adult cartoons like south park, the simpson, etc, actually care about what is shown on nickelodeon. In fact I can only think of 2 nicktoons in the last 20 years that have been made fun of. Though there was a brief bleep of avatar on the daily show, but they were specifically talking about bob-the-builder and its socialist propaganda. Avatar also lacks things to make fun of like highly annoying/idiotic characters (spongebob), no blatant fashion/product pushing objectives (Kim possible, heck mostly everything on Disney, also Bratz cartoons) or intense grossness (Ren & Stimpy) or any of the common laws of anime (Japan). |
Basically what I was gonna say. Still waitin for Peter to challenge Brian to an Agni Kai or somethin. Yeah, that's all they've got, and boy is McFarlene proud of it. Anywho, I think I missed that Naruto one.

Here's the scene Peter: Well, this is a lot better than when I had to save the world. (Flashes back to Peter as the Avatar, talking to Roku) Roku: You must defeat the fire lord by the end of next summer. Peter: Yeah, next summer isn't too good for me. Could we reschedule? |
I think they would have tried to be funnier than that. Or on the other hand, they might have gone your way and done something intentially short and unfunny under the influence that viewers would for some reason??feel the direct opposite and find it outragiously??hilarious anyway. ....Yeah, that's uh, some show huh.??

I can see that on Family Guy. Their flashbacks always have the awkward egde to them...I can picture him sort of thinking about it??as he speaks, like they do in Family Guy, like " Yeah, uh...next summer..next summer really doesn't work for me. How 'bout we, uh, reschedual?" You know...that weird thing they do *which is impossible to type *

Oh I know just what you mean. Man they've been going crazy with that this season, you know,??in every single episode, along with the showtunes. Come to think of it, I don't recall them doing this in any of the previous seasons. Mmm, right where they left off. Ah well I guess we should be used to that by now. After all, if it was kinda funny the first time, why not do it again... every single episode. ....Yeah. Can't wait for that next season...

Oh yeah there was a thread about this awhile ago. Not many paid attention to it though. It was pretty stupid, and unfortunately not in a good way. Ok I kinda liked it.

Actually, the simpsons alludes to and parodies the most obscure things constantly, you just don't notice because of how obscure the references are and how well they are integrated into the plot. For example, in the episode with the ribwich, whenever Homer bites into a fast foot rib sanwich, they zoom in on on the sandwich entering his mouth, then show his blood cells swiftly flowing through an artery, and then a shot of just a pupil dialating. Though this scene is by itself funny enough in demonstrating the power of the ribwich, it is also an allusion to the film, "Requiem for a Dream," which wasn't even widely released and grossed under 4 million domestic beacause the director refused to cut the scenes neccessary to rid it of its NC-17 rating. In the movie, the exact same set of shots follow every time a character injects himself or smokes heroin or pot. And the point of this is not so much that the addictiveness of fast food sandwiches is comperable to that of cocaine, but rather that absolutely nothing is safe from the parodies of Family Guy and the Simpsons. |

UGramer08, yeah well... err... your grandmother sucks eggs! What did you think would happen if everyone could edit something: a free and infinite source of perfectly accurate information; or the world???s larges bowl of crap and gossip? |
Of course it gonna be the second one but ain't nothing wrong with that. As for the grandmother thing. Don't have one. Both cursed my mother and gave up the ghost. ...Yeah my family's pretty effed up.
