There you go. If Aang's love for Katara is real, Kataang can happen in the end. And if being the Avatar doesn't hurt your chances with the ladies, then the chakra thing can't be as binding as people have claimed it to be. If being the Avatar meant having to permanently let go of everything you love, it seems that it would hurt your chances with the ladies. And Roku says that it doesn't. Are you going to argue with the guy who says "Previously, on Avatar"?

Something tells me that you are.

It's not just Roku. "Perfection and power are overrated. I think you were very wise to choose happiness and love."
You can't argue with Iroh either.

    No Doubt.

actually Kuruk was real close to that, he loved challenging others in fights to "prove his superiority" and to impress many girls, until he met the girl of his dreams, but Koh punished him for his past arrogance by taking the girl right at the moment of the marriage ceremony

I go by chemistry, I guess and they make such a cute couple. Some Zutarians say Aang's too young or too short, but I completely disagree.

Too short? Bald? I see nothing wrong with the fact that Aang is too short. I don't even see why looks matter. And Katara's not the type of person to judge, either. Besides, he IS going to grow up. And when he does, huh. Hopefully they'll have an epilogue in the future ^^

Too young? There's a two year difference between Zuko and Katara as well. And this is a different world. Obviously age doesn't matter if it's normal for a sixteen year old to marry.

And when SOME (Note the some) use the opposites attract thing with Zuko being a firebender and Katara water? First off, I think it's a poor reason to state why they should be together. Besides, isn't Aang a firebender, too?

There's also the excuse that Zuko lost his mother and his father hates him, so he needs someone like Katara to comfort him. Aang has lost a lot more than Zuko. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for Zuko and all, but Aang lost his entire family. His origin. He then finds out he's the avatar and has to defeat the firelord or else it's his fault and the world ends. He can't be a normal kid. Zuko only his mother and we don't even know if she's dead or not. He wants to defeat his father, so he doesn't care about him. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather lose one family member than my whole family o_0

And I don't think Katara needs someone who's always unhappy and miserable. She needs someone who would make her happy and her life fun. I mean, if it weren't for Aang, her home would probably be destroyed and she'd be dead.

Aang as a little brother? Ugh, I hate this. Katara's motherly to everyone. It's not just Aang. Everyone. And big sister's don't kiss, hug, or give romantic looks repeatedly to little brothers.

I guess I just have my own opinions, but what I find more romantic is falling in love with your best friend. It's like if you knew this person for so long and then it suddenly hits you that you have feelings for that person, but you're too scared to admit it. And then when that person has the same feelings as you do. I don't know. I just find it more romantic than hating someone at first, and then falling in love with them. It's too quick.

    So...yeah. That's why I like Kataang
    *swings in dressed like zorro*

1)cartoons are a primarily visual medium, if you're gonna make a cartoon couple, you're gonna make them look good together. of course whether or not they do is a matter of opinion

2)kataang age gap =/= zutara age gap. trust me, a LOT more goes on in the two years between 12 and 14 than between 14 and 16.

3)it's not as simplistic as "opposites attract." a balance of opposing forces is a running theme throughout the show. and no, aang's aand being a firebender doesn't apply to that balance because his water-, earth-, and firebending are all secondary to his airbending nature.

3)aang didn't have a mother. yeah, he lost everyone he knew and cared about, but from what we see the family dynamics among the air nomads don't differentiate separate families. at least not among the monks. the entire air nomad community acts as family, and although that doesn't make losing them any less painful, it does make the experience completely different. it's not about who's suffered more, it's about being able to relate to the experience.

4)just because he's not dancing around all happy-go lucky all the time doesn't mean he's angry and miserable all the time. now that he's not all angry he's just delightfully awkward. besides, we're not really in a position to decide what katara needs in a relationship, but in my opinion, it's not a pubescent boy.

5)she doesn't treat aang like a brother. but she certainly doesn't treat him like a crush either. she treats him like a best friend, which is, in my opinion, why she hasn't said anything about the DOBS kiss. it's hard to turn down someone you care about.

*carves giant LM into thread with sword*

    *flees*

So I guess that's the problem. We DON'T know who Katara wants. Gah. I'm really getting sick of shipping now. I'm just going to stick with fanfics and wait for the finale...which is in July... *Cries*

    What a twist!

actually Kuruk was real close to that, he loved challenging others in fights to "prove his superiority" and to impress many girls, until he met the girl of his dreams, but Koh punished him for his past arrogance by taking the girl right at the moment of the marriage ceremony

Do we know that is why Koh took his fiance? I remember seeing the video, but I figured that Koh did it to be a douche.

Kuruk: (voice-over) I traveled the world, challenging other benders to tests of strength...

(Young Kuruk and an Earthbender are seen with giant boulders hovering above them; Kuruk's boulder is bigger.)

Young Kuruk: (somewhere within the Fire Nation) I challenge you to an Agni Kai! (points finger a an innocent-looking man)
Fire Nation Civilian: Uh, I was just going to the store...

Kuruk: (voice-over) I loved impressing people with my bending prowess. Especially girls.

    later on

Kuruk: (voice-over) I was arrogant, proud and boastful. (Young Kuruk is seen using an ice board to surf a big wave) I never thought about settling down until I met the love of my life. than later on

Kuruk: (voice-over) She didn't drown. She disappeared into the Spirit World... Koh took her to punish me for my past mistakes.

    So...yeah. That's why I like Kataang

agree with you completely here. plus i was thinking about the whole 'motherly' argument that the zutarans keep imposing, i dont see katara hugging sokka even half the amout of time as she does aang and i don't think the show has ever shown katara kissing sokka on the cheek. kataang ftw.
