    Well, have you seen the finale trailer? There's a shot of Katara hugging Zuko. Now, I should tell you I'm an avid Kataangian (Kataangee? Kataanger? Whatever). That said I think Aang will have to enter the Avatar state to defeat Ozai. Ergo he will have to give up attachment (i.e. Katara), as Guru Pathik has mentioned.

    nah i dont think he will give up katara, i reckon he will either find a different way (because whats to say the guru's technique is the only way to master the avatar state.) or he wont master the avatar state at all

    Won't master the Avatar state at all?! C'mon, you don't introduce such a freakin' awesome, kickass element like that and not use it in the final showdown! Besides, the picture on the cover of the Sozin's comet comic and the fourth volume DVD box shows Aang in the Avatar state.

    As to finding a different way to enter the state...maybe. I hope so, but I'm skeptical. We'll have to see.

    but didn't aang say that because of azula hitting him with the lighting, his chuckra (sp?) thing is closed and he can't enter the avatar state?

    thats not a good comparison since 1) a lot of people don't worship the bible. 2) zutara won't happen and it has been confirmed by bryke in an interview.

    Remember that Mike and Bryan knew about the chakura situation, also remember that they knew about Aang's love for Katara. Have faith, they will solve the situation in a well-written way because they thought the whole thing through. Whether Kataang happens or not, the creators already knew the answer to the problem. It's not as if they are making this stuff up all along.
