You know me so well! XD But yeah, I don't really ship. I'm not really a romantic person. For me to ship the ship needs to be made with two people that I adore and they have to kick way more @ss and be funnier as a couple than as friends. The couples of avatar are normal, sweet, romantic, loving, and cute, but not lulzy and weird in the way I usually go. Heck, if it were me neither ship (Zutara/Kataang) would win and I would dedicate the extra time to Iroh, because you can never have too much Iroh. But, as I said before, Kataang is canon and I accept that. As long as people aren't jerks about fanon I really don't care. Because fanon-wise Zutara is as good as Zuko/Aang or Kataang or any other ship.

i think the main cliche kataang moments, it the awkward trying to tell the other that you like them one (which really fits the characters perfectly because they are still pretty young). i hate the whole zutara kidnapping or arranged marriage to make peace or some b.s. like that, its too out of character. i only like the fanfics where it has the character like they normally are but goes into there thought processes, except for tokka, they are always good lol

thats a main reason why i hate zutara, alot of the fanfics either dont make any sense compared to the plot or they involve zuko kidnapping katara or them having an arranged marriage, the first zutara fic i read was based of this kind of plot and it was disgusting.

I also thought about "the big reveal" and how Katara would react to Aang.

That's because shipping fics fall under the category of fanfics. The category of fanfics contains 99% crap. Many shipping fics are also done by squeally fangirls who think that Zuko + Katara evidence = the fact that they do some moves the same way and completely ignore the fact that Mike and Bryan love doing little parallel opposites like that.

So, yeah. Odds are, any shipping fic is going to be crap. Some of the oneshots give a halfway decent story. It's usually that she finds out how he got his scar and feels connected to him all over again while he admits that, although he enjoyed his time with Mai, he never saw it as anything serious.

I think that I've seen two multi-chaptered fics that did Zutara gradually and correctly.

Oh, well. I'm sure that the way Mike and Bryan'll have Zuko and Katara get together will be a good way.

Also because some people have read spoilers, and some people are avoiding the forums to avoid spoilers, and some people got banned, and about half of everyone else is probably currently trying to dramatically interrupt a Nickelodeon executive's meeting to get Avatar airing again (or just trying to kill the executives, lol).

back to the fanfic thing, I agree. I tend to hate zutara fanfics on ff.net etc. Mostly because most avatar fanfics in general are crap. I've found some really awesome ones though (most awesome zutara fanfics? Check out fandomne - awesome gradual relationship development ). I tend to prefer one-shots - which almost never explain the relationship and how it happens, because that's where most fanfics screw up, lol.

So after-relationship-starts one-shots, or AU one-shots are usually my favourites, because they tend to be more decent than multi-chapter random-crap-written-by-12-year-old-screaming-fangirls, fics. (it is sheer coicidence that I write such zutara oneshots....really ).

Hey, so I can like Kataang again (a few obnoxious kataangers I ran into today ruined it for me again, lol), can someone recommend a decent kataang fic that isn't just like Aang's daydream?
