When all is said and done, Zutara is just the idea of a direction that the story could have taken but didn't because it would have been bad writing to do so. Yeah, that was a little vague of me. When I say that Zutara would have been bad writing, I'm not talking about the idea itself - if it had been developed from the start, or even just from the end of Season 2, Zutara could have been almost as awsome as Kataang
When I said bad writing, I was referring to the notion that despite 3 seasons of Kataang developement, and 1 season of Maiko developement, both of those ships would somehow collapse and Zuko and Katara would fall in love with eachother in the last four episodes. Perhaps it was a bit harsh to call it bad writing, but you do have to admit that bringing Zutara out of nowhere and leaving Kataang and Maiko to hang would have been stretching it.

very true. i mean the way everything was written out was meant for kataang and maiko, and truthfully if zutara happened, it wouldn't be the way i wanted it. the development would have been too short, but i ship zutara because of the potential it has to become a ship so great that (okay, this is clearly an opinion) no other fictional couple could compare to it. im serious about how i feel. if bryke gave an extra season, and more development, it would've been a very good, no the best ship i have ever seen. (okay, i want discussion, not people jumping at me at wut i just said, PLEASE!)

If there's going to be another shipping war, let's get something sorted right from the start: let's have none of that "opposites attract" speel. I know that it sounds good, and I know that it's one of the biggest foundations of Zutara (which is telling), but the fact is that "opposites attract" would also imply Taang, among other things.

opposites attract isn't why i ship zutara. in fact i think that they have a lot more in common than katara and aang. besides their bending, they have really nothing that different.
God, we leave you Kataangers alone for a few hours and BAM you guys want to have a war!
Kataang may have won the war for Cannon, but the best looking couple is Zutara, hands down.
