I recently moved (2 months ago) to Germany, but before that I lived in Japan for over 5 years.?? I will tell you this and this is saying a lot.?? The Japanese reception to The Avatar is really good.?? The Japanese do not care for american style cartoons, as they have the ever so great Anime/Manga, but the avatar is an exception to this.?? I really hope Nickolodeon is smart and keeps this series running.?? They have a winner on their hands.

I can see that. Hey did you ever catch that commercial once where some guy asked, "Do all American cartoons have too be....funny?" He was then answered by, "Not all American cartoons are funny, just look at Drawn Together." The point is that unlike most cartoons in places like England and Japan, a lot of US cartoons focus on comedy... but are only "sometimes" funny. I really see Avatar as a breath of fresh air you'know? Glad the feeling is mutual. ...Yeah all that wasn't really neccessary. Kinda like stuff you'll see in a US cartoon. ...Yeah.

Np I never saw that commercial. Avatar is truly enriching at times. From the music, the characters, etc.

I usually divide it into two parts, the plot and the hook. The plot is all the character developement, general plot and premise, storylines etc. The hook is usually what we first see or hear that attains/holds our attention. This is the action, the soundtrack and visuals, the VA, the humour etc. Example: Naruto- plot: the personality developement the characters undergo due to Naruto's influence, hook-the ninjustu, taijutsu and (insert third thing here). I find Avatar, like Naruto at most times, to be one of those shows that try to make sure one doesn't overlap the other. ...Or whatever.

That's the one that people always forget. It took me forever to be able to remember it without having to look it up.

No, no I meant that the admins (or just really "authorative" users) tend to get ticked off pretty easy when u make a comment about another show that doesn't pertain to this show. Which is why I try to basically used the word "Avatar" somewhere in my posts whenever I know i'm intentionally gettin off topic. Avatar... again.

I was afraid Japan would see Avatar as a rip-off of their culture and heritage made by chites. Forgive me for not believing you totally, for this is the first time I've heard of Japan's response to Avatar and I'm not acquainted with you personally to know if you are telling the truth, but if your words hold fact GO AVATAR!!

I do not know what you mean by telling the truth, whether you mean about me living in Japan or the Japanese response.?? The Japanese would not get offended anyway, becuase The Avatar is based more on the Chinese culture, a very distinct difference.??

?? I with you though, GO AVATAR!!!

I think avatar at least to some extent tries to get an anime audience. Ive seen several advertisments in Anime and Manga magazines such as Shonen jump and Play. If you can get the kiddies and hardcore anime fans to love your work your set.??Often its?? deciding which is more profitable between fans and kids (hence One Piece dub.)

Avatar's in the "Anime/Manga" category at fanfiction.net. Sure, it's not anime, but it would be an insult to call it simply a "cartoon."
