I thought they did a good job balancing the three main fights. I wish we could have seen more of the Ba Sing Se battle but that would have rushed things even more. I also think an episode for each fight would be a little extensive. |
agreed. i really dont see what the big deal is. i dont think bryke could've really done an episode per fight scene, it would've pushed it a bit too far. and plus there are always going to be complaints because everyone wants something different. the OP should deal with it, you cant have a perfect episode all the time
the above poster could read my topic title, and move on since he knows whats going on in here anyway. =/
I was not saying epr say that the fights should have been one episode long. Just divided. For example, one episode for Zuko vs Azula and during that fight we could have gotten more info on what happened the night Ursa left. Or the OWL vs Ba sing Se could have explained where Jeong Jeong went or showed flashbacks of Pakku helping the Southern Tribe get back together again.

That would've been a bit off. You see, these things are happening at the same time. It would be unrealistic and the fights would seem to drag. |

I am quoting two posts because they bring up some great information that I would like to comment on. Everyone that knows me in this forum, can vouch that I'm pretty good at the sense of this show.
Anyways, here we go:

i liked the way it end but there's a few questions that i wanted to know 1. how did iroh go to the spirit world? 2. wheres Ursa 3. Who's going to teach the next avatar Airbending 4. did aang and katara get married/ did they have airbending kids? i dont really care about azula cause i know that katara and zuko didn't kill her i know shes probably in prison |
tvlover,
You have some great questions here.
1. That I think is going to be covered in whatever spinoff they put out. I am betting that the spinoff is going to show more history than future as so many are predicting. There are tons of things that need to be answered. Like what happened to the airbenders from the attack. Based on a previous magazine they put out, the writers indicated that we would find out this season that Aang isn't the last airbender. Here we are and that did not come to pass. Iroh's trip to the spirit world is a major question that many have had since the mention of it in the Siege of the North episodes. Hopefully they will cover it.
2. We all have that same question and have thrown around a ton of theories.
3. Well this one is a bit tricky. At this point from what we know, it all falls on Katara and Aang to repopulate the airbenders. However, as previously stated above, there is a possibility that the air nomads are out there in hiding.
4. We don't know this yet since they are teens still.

1. I agree with Eman here on this one. He has always been sensible when it comes to this show.
2. Again, Eman hit the nail on the head with this one.
3. This one I wanted to address the most. There is a bit of explanation in need of the artifact. The last time it was seen prior to Iroh, was when it was being burned by the volcano on Roku's island. So how did is survive the volcano and get into Iroh's hands? Good question right? I am betting that Iroh's spirit world travels are linked to this somehow.
4. Eman is right again. Iroh taking Ba Sing Se and reuniting with Zuko for his infinite wisdom are the only reasons why we saw him again. It would have been nice if he told his spirit world story then, but I can live without it if it promises a new season.
5. Well, the fillers that you mention were actually pertinent in some way shape or form. Painted Lady as an example, they took out a FN factory that made metal. If it was still there, then the FN might have been able to make more war balloons. Also the point of that episode was to the GAang helping more towns people. Keep in mind that if they just suddenly defeated Ozai, everyone in the nation would not know what to do. Their lives needed to be opened to the kindness of the world so they would realize the better life option.
6. I can agree that the technique could have been exploited more. In Southern Raiders they showed Katara use it and Zuko shot a look of shock. That leaves an important question. What is the look going to mean in future episodes? There was a look from Mai when she passed by Azula the one time. That signified Mai's distrust in Azula as we saw when she betrayed her in the prison.
7. Again, Eman hit the nail on the head with this one.
Personally, I thought the season was progressive. Definitely not in the direction I thought it would take, but it was still good enough for me. I personally would have liked to see a revolt from the FN populace that were being affected by the war. Example, the village on the lake. The kids from the school should have come back and shown more in the show. Other than that, I think it was a great end of the season and can't complain about the action. The final fight didn't have any stupid monologuing like in DBZ.

I didn't like the way it ended. Zuko lost both the battles he fought in the finale---Against Aang AND Azula. Yeah, he sacrificed himself for Katara, and that's important, but don't you think it would've been more fulfilling if he actually beat Azula, she was laying on the ground, defeated, he walked away, she gets back up and tries to shoot lightning at Katara but he notices just in time to jump in the way? At least this way he'd have a partial victory. I feel bad for the guy |
