This bears repeating. Zuko is seeing the Avatar in himself. Great analysis.

IMHO, Zuko sees himself as the Avatar because he freed the Avatar's bison. Therefore, he is being like the Avatar, and some part of himself doesn't like to be the loved-by-everyone-good-guy, therefore the scream. About the dragons... I agree with EVERYONE here (well, most of them at least) on them being Zuko's "good" and "bad" sides, being represented by Iroh (Zuko's leader to the good side) and Azula (Zuko's idea of the maximum evil). He might think that Azula had something to do with his mother dissapearence (sp?) since it was right after Azula talked to her that she left.

I actually disagree on the dragons thing.?? I think that during the fever he was fairly close to death and delirious--the Azula dragon was trying to make him lie back and let himself die because he's weak, etc. ("sleep like mother"), and the Iroh dragon was trying to pull him through the fever and get him out of the delirium.

Actually, after Bitter Works, I had this really strange thought.......

what if theres more then 1 Avatar? What if Zuko was also the Avatar? Think about it! The Avatar is usually told about their destiny at age 16, but Zuko was banished at that point, so it was useless to tell him. Only, no one knows that he's the Avatar, except for Iroh (Spirit world travel and all) 'Cause remeber in Bitter Works when Iroh was teaching Zuko about the elements??? So when Zuko saw himself as Aang, he could have been seeing what he's to become (T.T Bald, damnit. XD)

Crazy theory, but I believe it.

Aang actually was spiritually deceased as he rested in the iceberg and in the 100 year absence, the avatars for Water and Earth lived and died uneventful and hushed lives? It's slim (and relatively dirivative of the "Slayer" lineage plot arcs of Buffy), but in all possible.

Must you rain on my delusional parade? I say, it makes sense. If there was another Avatar kept secret from the world, who says they'd follow the same cycle as Aang? I write a fanfiction like that, and the 'Avatar' follows the cycle, but one step before Aang. It's a theory. (God, I'll feel like Sokka saying this, but WHO CARES!) OK, but remember that??'Zuko might also be the Avatar' theory. I think it???s a winner.

I think Zuko mught have been the Avatar if Aang was cuaght and killed 100 years ago. That's what I think when he saw Aang's face in his reflection??
*giggles* that was one funny moment. even if it did make me jump. was it totally Aang's reflection or Zuko w/ an arrow? anywho, I think your wrong. It means he's going somewhere good, alnog side Aang. He jumped because he's been chasing him & it just kinda freaked him out a bit. Come ON, that was like bright neon this is it. almost like that football that killed his wife's book.

i think it shows him that they have to work together, that their fates are intertwined, now if aang had a dream where he has a burn scar over his left eye, it would totally solidify what i just said and i would totally freak out, yea!!!
