0_0 I don't quite follow the logic there.

Ahem.. Hellboy and Fire Chick had a thing going on, amirite? So, if Hellboy is Sozin, and Fire Chick is Azula.. There you go.

Yeah but...it's two different stories...and the characters are different and...

    Oh nevermind.
    Yeah.....that is disgusting.

I agree. His evil rating must have been pretty high, because c'mon, ever since every nation had lived in harmony for existence, and then this guy just comes and wants world domination? That seems pretty vile and revolutionary at the same time.

    Good thread.

Sozin does get overlooked and he's really powerful. Remember the fireblast he made when attacking Roku. If he was more in the show I think he'd probaly be one of my favorites. But for that same reason he's overlooked, just not enough airtime.

I do believe Sozin lived to be pretty old. I haven't seen The Avatar and the Firelord in a while. ^^; But yes, he was a mighty fine bender.

Something I kind of forgot to mention in the first post, he was also (assuming, though 90% sure) high ranking in the Fire Nation army. I don't think the Fire Lord runs around in battle, so he might have been a general or higher (if you can get higher. I don't know ranks well ^^

I do wish he had more airtime. That way perhaps more people could appreciate him. But I doubt they'll touch on him anymore. I wonder what exactly caused him to decide "Hey, I'm taking over the world!" I know some people think because of Roku but I don't know if I can believe that. It'd be great if we could get an encyclopedia of sorts after the show, or at least stories of the other characters we don't know much about.

Or that spinoff we're hoping for.

It started off with him wanting to spread the prosperity that the Fire Nation was enjoying, and it went from there.

Cool thread. I think Sozinwas an evil dude becasue he started a war based on his 'good' intentions. Some of the most evil people in the world committed heinous crimes started on good intentions.

Lol, Maddo.. Don't you know how to connect Avatar with random crap? XD

I guess I spend too much time on CAPSLOCK.

I wonder if I can find an Avatar/Hellboy trailer on youtube.
    There's one. I think.

I guess that's how it always goes, huh? Good intentions go on to murderous rampages, with the good intentions generally forgotten. Or it's a "It doesn't matter who dies, this is all for the greater good" sort of thing.

Actually, my favorite is: "You can't make an omlet without breaking some eggs."

Or, the old Vietnam one: "It became necessary to destroy the village in order to save it."

I think he went with the whole it doesn't matter who does, greater good thing, but why genocide? So maybe it started wit that, but then he changed to wanting to better the Fire Nation and thought that Airbenders could oppose him the most so he eliminated them.

He eliminated the Airbenders specifically to take out the next Avatar.

trudat, sozin was weak and a piece of sh#t,, just like avatar roku said in the episode avatar and the firelord when they were fighting "you didnt beat me the tree root did" meaning that the comet (sozins comet) did all the work, not the so called powerful firebender he was. and remember sozin didnt even toach roku when they fought and he attack when rokus back was turned so i would say sozin is weak, stupid and is a coward!!

Hey man, if you were going up against someone who's the equivalent of Kung-Fu Action Jesus, you'd shoot him in the back too cause otherwise you're gonna get owned...which just so happened to occur anyway.

Heh heh, guess we know who Azula inherited her shoot-the-Avatar-in-the-back skills from.

Yes, he took out the Airbenders to get rid of the next Avatar. I guess he figured that the Avatar would inherit Roku's anger and dislike towards his "perfect world." Then I guess, if he was still alive, the Waterbenders were raided to make absolutly SURE he did not miss the Avatar. The other Fire Lords seemed to continue that. I guess thinking all the Airbenders were dead, and that the Avatar had to have been reborn in the Water Tribe.

Though now I wonder something. The Avatar is not reincarnated if killed in the Avatar State. If Sozin knew this, do you think he'd take out Roku while he was in the Avatar State if he could?
