Sokka haters are lame, unless they hate him for a legitimate reason.

    Two illegitimate reasons.

-He's not a bender (he kicks enough butt without bending to not need it)
-His personality (he really isn't that bad, he's pragmatic when others aren't, and he's sarcastic.?? He also brings a little bit of realism to a group filled with magical benders.)

I actually like Sokka, he's stronger than the benders, in his own way.

Well I don't know how can you hate sokka either but who cares if he can't bend he can fight and he has a cool personality it's silly to hate fictional characters so why Sokka?

Sokka makes the show funny, and makes the show better, but Toph is the best, and no one better say anything bad about her.

I wouldn't say that Sokka haters are lame exactly.

But if they're going to rant about "OMG I Hate Sokka, he sucks"

they're going to have to give a good reason . XP

I don't hate Sokka... I really think he adds, as someone else said, realism to the show. And, without him, it would seem like it's impossible to fight a good battle without bending abilities. Also, his sarcastic nature and hilarious remarks brings the group back to earth when they are too caught up in their drama and angst. But really. And for those people who think the writers did a bad job with Sokka because they mad him "loud and annoying" the writers originally made it so that Sokka's character was more low-key, but Jack DeSena's voice brought a different life to Sokka, and the writers decided to play to that strength.

I agree, he brings a different flavor of characterization to the show. An underdog sort of strength, which balances a lot of the dynamic between the other characters.

I don't really hate Sokka, I just find him annoying a lot of the time. But then again, who would we laugh at without him?

Yes, this show would be quite boring without his humor, now that I think about it.

What I like most about Sokka is that he's like the opposite of Zuko.

He goes through a series of slapsticky jokes and embarrassing situations, yet is willing to accept his humility.

And I love how he spazzes.
