back on topic though...I agree, that the majority of the ep will likely be comedy filler (Fuller I guess I should say), but as others have said, Avatar fillers are actually pretty good. and more often than not there is at the very least a bit of plot relevance, and if not there is always a bit of character development. I have trouble believing the entire ep will focus on the play. Considering the 7 minute preview covered all of book 1, I see plenty of time for other stuff to go down |
but even if the whole episode is a "fuller", that would be okay with me because then there will be 2 hours of epic win.
Actually, it probably wont be completely filler. Just the first half because they need to get on the island for a reason before the episode can actually begin.
I think that this will be the episode with Jun in it because it's called "The Ember Island Players" and "Players" could mean gamblers, or the actors for that matter BUT I think it has to do with Jun.
Also, Ember Island is the place where Azula, Mai, Zuko, and Ty Lee discovered more about themselves, so maybe that's what part of the play was about. To show them what they seem like to others. Of course, the play was made to humiliate them but whatever. I think that the gaang will discover more about themselves there as well.
And about the Iroh visiting Lo and Li...I've always thought that Lo and Li were on the good side anyway, so I think that they are members of the White Lotus. Just a thought.
The Ember Island Players will be much more than filler.

Besides, the only true "filler" is The Great Divide (as evidenced by this episode itself. "Let's Keep Flying.") All the episodes in this show are part of the story that is to be told. Besides, I can't wait to see them making fun of Toph, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee. |
Oh, I know. Their character designs were hilarious. Is Azula going to played by a man? Because we already have Girl!Aang, why not Man!Azula. She's practically a man anyway.
I think the play is really what makes Azula go insane. Her friends betraying her? No. Mommy issues? Nuh-uh. Because mocked in a play? Yes!

Hah.. I just imagined Azula running on stage, in her nightgown, screaming obscenities, and throwing hairbrushes. Hairbrushes everywhere!
Oh Lord.. Now I have to draw that..

Yeah, that's true. But Toph's actor is really supposed to a guy, while Aang's actress is supposed to be a boy. If it was just a drag-queen playing a woman, that'd be pretty win.
But yeah, they probably wouldn't do that to Azula. However, her character design was pretty manish looking? It might just be an ugly woman thought.
