Guys, I just read the iTunes description for S3. It's very interesting:
...However, Princess Azula, who is one step ahead, spoils the invasion plans and forces the gang to flee. Meanwhile, Prince Zuko returns home as the triumphant son, but soon finds his honor he so greatly craved from his father is worthless. New alliances are formed and Team Avatar forges a new plan to stop the firelord.
...so, Azula stops the invasion plan on the Day of Black Sun?! Zuko's honor is worthless? I think iTunes is giving stuff away. Nevertheless, what do you think?

I think we got Zuko all wrong.
I think this is all a ploy. He's just playing Azula. The FireNation has done too much to him for him to forgive and forget. I think in Crossroads when he and Uncle were talking (prior to the big battle), a plan was hatched.
Azula seems to know all, yet in B3E2 when she confronts him about going to see Uncle he goes back, even after her warning. He seems like the 'good' Fire Nation Prince now, but, I have my doubts. Maybe Uncle was crying because Zuko is having trouble dealing with their plan.
Oh, and this thing with Mai.....well isn't Mai a close ally ofAzula's???? He's probably playing that card too!!!(there is absolutely nochemistry between the two)

I just noticed that episode 6 is titled "The Avatar and the Firelord", and that got me thinking. What if...
...at some point before the end of the season, Ozai goes down and Azula takes over. I guess it's possible that Zuko could take over as well, but if he did Azula would still be playing him like a pawn. The idea that the Avatar will battle the firelord in the end is very linear, and the creators of this show are anything but predictable. There's got to be some sort of twist before the final battle. I don't think Zuko would willingly allign with Aang because hate for the Avatar is so engrained in him, but if he was made to choose between Azula and Aang again then he could possibly choose Aang's side. Especially if Azula keeps jerking him around the way she is and he smartens up to that. Maybe Mai will be the one to smack Zuko upside the head and tell him to wise up to Azula's schemes. She has sort of an inside view of Azula's plotting and Zuko trusts her.
