I'm embarrassed to say this, but I was happy that he did that. He's FN through and through, he was hardened at sea for three years, his whole life purpose was to catch the Avatar... I'd hate for him to turn sweet and sensitive overnight, it just wouldn't be realistic. Like Lydja-chan said, I'm glad to see that the writer's aren't rushing his journey to good-guyness. (At least, I hope they aren't!)

Re: his sense of honor-- it's really only been tested in the realm of combat, i.e. he won't hurt people uneccessarily. However, as a prince he has gotten used to having his own way and he's used to taking things by force when they are not handed over. I guess it's a whole learning-to-trust-people thing too. Song (sp?) and her mom might've freely given Zuko their bird-horse if he had asked.

You make a good point. Song didn't try to stop him from taking the horse, she just looked sadly at him...
And you're probably right about him not changing very quickly. From the look in Zuko's eyes when song mentioned the Avatar bringing people hope It seems to me he still wants to capture Aang.

I seriously thought that Zuko was going to turn ito a goody goodie but I guess that's a job for Katara but seriously I thought Song would be able to do when I saw Zuko's face when Song showed him her scar on her leg he seemed to take pitty and understandment oh well still a lot more time
