    actually, i disagree. i think zutara is fanon.

    there is a difference between crackship and fanon. crackship is something that is completely crazy that no one wants to happen but people like to joke about it, but fanon is a ship that people want to happen, but isn't canon.

    Good point. Nice way to separate the two. A true crackship is something like Jet and Mai or Ty Lee and Aang or Longshot and Azula.

    You know how Aang has to let go of Katara to gain controll of his avatar state well he doesnt even have to get his avatar state back. I know that gives Zutarians hope but kataang is going to happen so deal with it!!! Aang cant go in his avatar state anymore because Azula messed up his 7th chakra.

    I think we'll have to wait and see to be totally sure about the whole Avatar State deal. Roku explained that the avatar state is used as a sort of "defense mechanism". Something has got to give yet because as of now - the Gaang needs all the help they can get. There are rumors of the return of the White Lotus Society but I believe the need of the Avatar State will return. Otherwise, why would they have placed so much painstaking detail in describing it only to have it cast aside? Plus the shipping war is not over till the show is over. There is no definite victory for any ship yet.

    When the episode focused on the air chakra, (which circulates through love and is blocked by grief) it explicitly stated that the love Aang had for his whole race was reincarnated as his love for Katara.     Koh stole Kuruk's fiance's face because Kuruk was a jerk in his past.

    roku had a crush on ta min before he went off to go glowy and whatnot. so if he went through the chakra process with a guru he would've had to consider ta min as an attachment.
    also, that fact doesn't matter, because if you open a chakra it doesn't remain open. if aang were to develop a fear of spiders his earth chakra would close again. if roku opened his thought chakra and then fell in love with ta min it would shut again.

    Yes, what I'm saying is that Roku didn't have as strong of earthly attachments before he left. He had his best friend, and he had a crush, which is nothing compared to Aang's love for Katara, at least IMO. It was easier for him to master the Avatar State. He didn't have such a huge distraction, such as love for someone, to hold him back. When he did return, he knew to keep his emotional attachments second to avatar duties. He loved his wife, but it was always second. That's the way I see it at least.

    If you remember from the avatar and the firelord Roku fell in love with his wife before he found out he was the avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He had his best friend, and he had a crush, which is nothing compared to Aang's love for Katara, at least IMO. It was easier for him to master the Avatar State. He didn't have such a huge distraction, such as love for someone, to hold him back. When he did return, he knew to keep his emotional attachments second to avatar duties. He loved his wife, but it was always second. That's the way I see it at least.

    right, so maybe aang needs to learn to make sure his avatar duties come before katara.

    that was his mistake in 'the guru', instead of choosing his avatar duties he went to save katara. that's what he needs to learn to do. as ron weasley said in the second harry potter film he 'needs to get his priorities straight' (one of my favourite quotes).
