I did some thinking. My conclusion is that beating the Firelord in a battle seems rather pointless if you try to save the world.

Think about it. No country has ever stopped warfare because there leader died, instead, they just appointed another leader and continued what they were doing, some times this new leader was even more vicious then the one before him.

I want to know what happens after Aang "defeats" the Fire Lord (What is "defeat"? The Fire Lord passed out or the Fire Lord killed?). I suspect both Azula and Ozai will either be imprisoned or killed, but then again, wouldn't some high general take control? I doubt Zuko will take the throne, since he betraid his country not much people will be supporting him. All other relatives, Zuko's mom, Iroh, they all left the FN. The people wouldn't support a traitor, at least I wouldn't.

Furthermore it's doubtfull that the people in the FN are suddenly going to change their minds about the war.

So what will happen? It would logic if some high general would take control and the war would be continued, but I doubt that will happen, since Avatar is still a kids show and needs a happy end. I can't see how though. How is beating the Fire Lord going to stop the war?

This isn't some log epic anime or novel of mystery and intrigue. It's a kiddie show that's ending this year. They're not going to draw out the plot to mad lengths with a never ending war of doom. Avatar isn't the kiddiest of kiddie shows, but it is still a kiddie show and therefore it will have a very straight forward end. Aang or Zuko or someone might die, but the war will end as it was the driving force behind the entire show, which, I repeat, is ending.

You haven't answered my question I drew the conclusion myself that the war is going to end, since this is afterall a "kiddie show". I just wonder how

Zuko will take the throne. Think about it, he wsa un-banished at the start of season 3, and Ozai never told him 'you're banished' in DOBS. So technically he's not banished. And since he's the firstborn son of the Firelord that makes him next in line to the throne.
When Aang beats Ozai, Zuko will claim the throne and make the war stop whether the Fire Nation wants it or not.

Plus if Zuko doesn't take the throne, there's always Iroh, technically he's not banished either.

If we knew how the show was going to end, then why would we watch it? Don't call the ending 'kiddie' or illogical when you haven't seen it yet. The writers will probably find a neat way that makes sense of rapping everything up.

And many nations throughout the course of history have surrendered when their leader was killed. Without a head, the body cannot live...unless you're a roach.

We don't know how the show will end, but it's OK to speculate. Furthermore I never said the ending is going to be "kiddie", I was merely pointing out that this remains a kid show, and therefore I suspect that the war will end.

Name one nation. Most wars end either by economic exhaustion, big defeats in battle or political agreements. Wars don't usually end by killing the leader.

Now I asked a question, and to be honest, I am not in the mood for anymore pointless discussions of nations surrendering or whether or not speculation is wrong, so don't bother me with that anymore. Let's stay on topic.

Technically speaking nazi germany would have proposed peace with the western allies if hitler would have died.
But that would only be done so they could focus themself more on the eastern front.
However since the brutal retaliations by hitler and the fact that people (the allied) thought he was more destructive then productive towards his nation they did not made a second attempt to kill him.
So in a way killing a leader can stop a war it just depends on the leader, look at napoleon, without him the frence couldn't even fight peasants let alone stand a well trained army that's called the english.
So again I see it all depends on the leaders if the nation can survive or not.

Speculation is fine, but you're the one who 'concluded' defeating the Firelord is pointless.

As for nations giving up without their leader, I can name a few. But since you only asked me to name one, one I shall name: Mongolia. Way back in the day, during the rule of one of Genghis Khan's descendants, the Mongol army was positioned to strike at Western Europe. However before they could strike, the aforementioned leader unexpectedly died. The Mongol army, not knowing what to do, withdrew from Europe. The end.

Would it be possible if Hadoka had a sister and was kidnapped during a raid. And his sister would happen to be Ursa? Or Hadoka's wife had a sister(or twin) and was kidnapped and it was Ursa? If this is true, would that mean Zuko, Katara and Sokka are related? This does seem possible, right? Why else did they call 316-The southern Raiders? Interesting, but its pure speculation.

That would be a big hit for Zutara fans

I don't think it's true though. In the episode "The Avatar and the Fire Lord", 306, it is mentioned that Ursa's father is Avatar Roku, who was born in the Fire Nation, and married a woman from the Fire Nation. It would take an awefull big twist to make Katara, Sokka and Zuko relatives.

Azula does go crazy and starts banishing people. She has major issues with Ursa and is hurt that she never cared for her the way she loved Zuko. She has an Agni Kai with Zuko, the result of which my source didn't elaborate, but seeing as Zuko becomes Fire Lord I don't think it goes well for her. But then, the source also states that Katara takes her down, so who knows?

Sokka, Suki and Toph have a separate mission involving an airship in which Sokka loses both his sword and his boomerang. NOOOO!!!!!

Ty Lee joins the Kyoshi Warriors.

Interesting. Though it doesn't cover all lose ends. Right now these are the lose ends I can think of:

    - Koh the Face Stealer is probably going to make his return ("We'll meet again", and I remember I read something about some announcment the writers made, I am not sure though).

    - Jeong Jeong is suspected to return again (Aang: "Yeah, like we'll ever run into Jeong Jeong again", kind of obvious )

    - King Bumi

    - The girl from the episode "Bato of the Water Tribe" (the one with that big beast she rides on) is shown fighting in the finale trailer, so she'll be back

    - Bloodbending (They didn't introduced it for nothing)

    - The White Lotus is obviously going to do something. Known members of the White Lotus are Iroh and that swordsguy that trained Sokka (not a 100% sure, but pretty sure )

    - We're going to know a little more about Ursa probably.

And this all has to happen in just 6 episodes now. I am sure this is going to be spectacular

Uh.. hmm ok look, to the original poster that started this pyramid, I like that you're stating your opinion and saying this stuff but... it's a pretty big spoiler for the rest of us that didn't read the book, so um could you delete it or put it on Daveshan's book discussion thread?

No that its been quoted simply deleting the original message wont get rid of the quoted posts. All the posts containing any spoilers must be deleted. High00Lord has already posted that spoilers are only allowed in one thread.

As I pointed out, it doesn't cover all lose ends. Even if it is true, it is still not complete. Besides, I have no idea how someone could possibly know the end of the show. If I leaded Nick, I would be extra carefull with the end of the show. I bet none of this is true.

It would suck if it was, since I read it. Fortunately I had a party the day I read it and can't remember all of it, though when I see it it will probably come back to me.
