    I have noticed a lot of threads about whether Avatar will continue or not.It really clogs up these forums,so I have decided to make a forum for all disscussion of the continuation of this show.Here are a few important facts about the future of Avatar;

-There will be three 60 minute minisodes on Nick.

-There will be NO book four.

-There will be three live action movies(As stated in the Official Movie Disscussion Thread)

-Bryke has mentioned that there is a slight chance of a spinoff depending on the final prophit of the series.

-There will be a new Avatar video game.

So please,no more threads about the continuation of this show.

I think you should edit the poll a bit. A lot of us (myself included) disaprove of a "season four" because we feel that the adventures of the gaang have been brought to a close perfectly and don't want to see that story stretched out and ruined, but at the same time we heartedly approve of a new series set in the Avatar world with new characters and a new storyline. So there should be a "I don't want season 4 - I want a new story about another Avatar" option, or something like that.

That would fall under it having no plot.

Finally a thread about this! This has totally been flooding the boards. So many people are like, "I can't wait until season 4!" NO NO NO ahahahhaa. THERE WILL BE NO SEASON 4! When are the three hour long episodes going to be released? I haven't heard about those in a while.

No one knows when or if they will be relased. As far as I know, there has been no official confirmation. But as I have continually pointed out, it only makes sense for them to make those mini-episodes/hour-long movies. Also, even if there is no Book 4--there will not be a Book 4!--, Avatar is going to continue in many ways; the MMO, the box set, an eventual soundtrack and the live-action movies.

But it won't actually continue, it'll just elongate, if that makes sense. The story will just be retold over and over again. But, right now, there is no doubt in my mind that they will create a brand new series. This show is a serious hit. Why wouldn't they make a new series? At least, that's what I keep telling myself...

i can see where you're coming from about the "elongate" stuff.....but as long as they have new characters and complete different conflicts and villains and situations....then everything will be different and fine....

But they won't if they only have the movies, box sets, soundtracks, and games. It'll just be a slightly altered version of the actual series. I want a new series to add more life to Avatar. I don't think that copying something and redistributing it will make Avatar continue.

If they make a new series, and I believe they will, I imagine they will focus on the first Avatar; the possibilities for that story-arc would be limitless.

That would be ridiculously interesting, but it might be too hard to create. Also, that Avatar would have no Avatar state. I mean, I wouldn't mind, but the younger viewers might find that plot boring. There wouldn't be nearly as much action as other plots might offer.

    Avatar Roku

    Avatr Kyoshi (ehhh)

Avatar Koruk (idk how to spell that)

    Avatar Yang Chen or Chin

    The next avatar (after aang)

Not Roku, we already know his story, basically. Not Kyoshi either, we know what she accomplsiehd. Avatar Kuruk didn't have anything exciting going on in his life. Avatar Yangchen was another airbender, I'm sure they'd want to mix it up. And not the next Avatar, because I'm sure it'll take a couple lifetimes to get things off track again. And not the last avatar because there's no such thing unless someone dies in the Avatar state and so we already know the outcome of the show. Possibly first Avatar. Sorry to shoot down all of your ideas :/

I doubt they would make a series focusing on any of those avatars...especially Roku. What more can we learn about Roku that we do not already know? The same thing would happen with Kyoshi; she defeats Chin and creates the Dai Li...that is about it. There is that mysterious Fire Nation Avatar we see during episode 2-1 (The Avatar State), but who knows if anything worthwhile happened during his liftime. I am sticking by my earlier post as the most likely outcome.

I have to say, I think that you're right - no matter what we might want to see in a story, not only does the first Avatar have the most potential as far as plot is concerned, it would also make the most sense as far as storytelling goes (my opinion anyway).

BTW, I absolutely love your new sig.

I always thought the story of the first Avatar had the most potential. I am guessing the reasons for why an Avatar was created are pretty epic. I could be wrong, but I would imagine there was some sort of crisis or war that forced the creation of such a person. Thanks for the sig love; Dafoose created it for me.

I know this isn't enough to make an actual series, but I've always wondered what was going on when Iroh went to the spirit world.

That would be explained during a mini episode.

I agree with the first Avatar theory. It would create an interesting story line. I do think that, if written correctly, this could make an excellent show. Thank God Bryke would be writing it!
