I just had a thought recently: Long Feng may possibly be a master with Neutral Jing. Why do I think this is so? Well, he seems to be taking his time with taking actions, and wants to wait for the right moment to get rid of Aang. Also, during his fight with Aang and Jet, when he strikes down Jet, he counterattacks Jet's sword throw at the very last second. Neutral Jing involves waiting for the right moment to strike, doesn't it? Well, Long Feng seems to be really good at that.

    Any comments?

eeerm... yes...? so? whats ur point with this? its not like i wanna be rude against you, but its just an attack strategy, which involves a lot of focus and concentration like Bomi mastered... i dont think he's the only one who masters ''Neutral Jing'', just look at Iroh

i guess they wait till the enemy loses his concentration for a second, or they will keep moving till he/she has a better attacking position then the enemy... Neutral Jin is based on waiting till u have the best odds of winning the fight/battle.
this is why u almost cant use 100% of the strategy when ur already fighting ur opponent... i mean, u cant do nothing right? u have to keep moving and hitting the opponent. the only thing u could do, is waiting to take risc till u got the best odds in succeeding (by defeating/killing the other).

btw, dont confuse it with Negative Jin, which is defending. Neutral Jin doesnt always mean: waiting till the other strikes first.

I'd wait for to see him Earthbend more than on two occasions.

hmmmm, u dont wanna give the opponent to much time to prepare a solid attack against you. u have to keep him running...

Still, it brings up a point that Long Feng is not going to be an easy opponent for Aang and co to beat. I bet even Toph would have a hard time with him.

And that's the problem with that theory. If Long Feng had been a Neutral Jing Master, he wouldn't have rushed Appa - who had the upper hand at the time.

    I'd call this case closed.

Okay, okay. Maybe I exaggerated when I said "Master". Maybe, he just knows about it, and uses it sometimes. But still, I wouldn't call him a bad earthbender. Afterall, he captured Appa in one move at the end of "Appa's Lost Days". Certainly an unskilled earthbender couldn't have done that.

Aang's already getting taught by Toph, and he even says she's the one who "waits and listens," and must be his earthbending master.

but Long Feng BETTER use neutral wussy jing style because did you see when he tried to use positive jing and attacked appa? he got PWNED!!!!
