Don't 4get Inuyasha (wait I think its done now, i??don't really know, i??stopped watching years ago) and the DBZ series (yep still 2 lazy 2 spell??out the whole thing).??Though the movies were pretty good. ...Pysche.
I want it to end when its suppose to. I hate shows that go on WAY to long, or end to soon. Luckily that won't happen this time.
Although I "love" how they mentioned Toph in the article. Poor Toph

I always thought that this series should have been designed to last four seasons.
The first three focusing on the mastering of each element and then the final season would be able to focus souly on the war and fighting Ozai. Just having 3 is going to make it feel a little rushed because right after Aang learns Fire we're going to be pushed into the series finale.
But I still??believe this show should end where it was designed to end.

But why dont the creators want to make a 4th season of Avatar? -Make fans happier. -Will end the show in a more fitting way without being rushed. -They'll make more money They have no reason to end now.. |
Its not that, its just that the creators originally planned it 4 just 3 seasons. Being an anime-influenced show, Avatar noteably has some of the qualites of a true anime, and 1 of those is storyline. Unlike most episodic American cartoons (which basically go on an on doing the exact same thing in each episode until people get bored of it and the show gets cancelled... er, "chooses" to end the show) most anime contain storylines and a main reappearing plot devices??(finding a special item coughphilosophersstonecough, achieving the title of something; like a pokemon master or a pirate or whatever, God those shows suck , or defeat the??major reappearing villain once and 4 all; Naroko??or whatever his name was,??etc) which if??overcome,??will cause the show to??end.??The time it takes to accomplish this varies and usually depends on the show itself, sometimes this can take over 180 episodes, other times 7. Most anime last no more than 3 seasons, and the 1s that go past this point seem 2 go on 4ever (it could also depend on if the show is based on a running manga or something.. but let's get into that). The main point is that its what unfortunately makes the show to end, that's were we have some problems. For Avatar, the plot device is obviously defeating Ozai and ending the war. When an show decides to continue on even after completing the main plot device, there can be serious repercussions.??Like an ??episodic??cartoon, the show will have to find a new plot device altogether for almost every other episode to fill in the huge gap left by the one that had been there previously 4 numerous episodes or seasons. The episodes themselves won't be as connected as they used to be, giving the show a "filler" feel. Of course not all shows fall??victim 2 this (not??right away anyway:roll and thye can instead become bigger and better than what they were b4 due to the change (i miss DBZ, the good kind). Above all, the main point of all this is that the creators of Avatar had it all laid out b4 the show??even started. Yeah sure they??had 2 wait 4??the following 2 seasons to be green-lighted by the network but??that's about it. They weren't??really waiting from the start 2 see if they could??go past the big 3 even if they would enjoy it. Only now after realizing how much people have come to like the show so quickly have they began 2 "consider" some additions to the original template. ....Yeah its a still no. ??

Nowhere in there does it say the series will definitely end after 60 episodes. In fact my source says there's lots of possibilities for the show to go beyond 3 seasons, but not even the show staff know how long the show will last. |

I actually used to be a big anime fan, and I still watch some of the better series occasionally, so I'm pretty used to the brevity of certain shows.?? In my opinion if the creators told their story, then no matter how much I may want more, they should leave it at that.?? When you're forced to think of something in order to appease others, you usually end up sacrificing quality, which is not something I want to see happen in Avatar.
I say, finish your story whenever it finishes, and leave it at that.?? Booyaka.
