Can you think of an unpredictable episode? They're all pretty straight forward.

Showing the rough rhinos does NOT indicate that he'll come back later to execute vengeance on them. I can think of 3 reasons why they'd show it:

    1. For the internal emotional development arc of Jet within this particular episode.

    2. Becuase the creators are obsessed with bringing back old characters.

    3. To build up the evil of the rough rhinos character, though not for Jet's sake.

Personally, I hope Jet doesn't come back, because I don't like the character. He's too one-dimensional and "Jet" wasn't a very good episode (too predictable, for one thing).
How can you not like Jet?! He's the best and the 'Jet' episode was great. Seeing the only guy who has ever beaten Aang was amazing. I really want him to come back.

Forgiving the double post, I agree!! Jet was cool, I mean how often do we see nonbenders, and ones with big parts at that??

Someone said Jet was one-dimensional. I personally think he was pretty well developed for being in only 3 episodes.

I know, Sokka, Suki, Ty Lee, and Jet. They're the only main non-benders I can think of....Now compare that to the seemingly infinite number of benders and they are so outnumbered!

I tend to like the human vs. superpower/magical/enhance person(s). For me, it show courage, skill, and determination of regular humans fighting against someone/something they know outmatched them in power and/or strength. I like Aang, Katara, Toph, and Azula as benders, but give me the human struggle against overwhelmingly odds anyday.

    ...Okay, good point...
But I still have issues with the whole "Not enough regular people!!!" thing...

Lots of posts on this already, but most people seem to agree that Jet died.

I don't like the thought but I think he died as well. *sniff*

Zhao-type death, we don't see it outrgiht due to younger viewers but older viewers can understand.

BUT BUT .... JET IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS

    :
If Jet died, wouldn't Longshot and Smellerbee just hurry out of the tunnels with his body. Why else would Longshot draw his arrow, ready to fight to protect Jet

Well, the argument there is that Jet wasn't dead when the Aang gang left, he was dying.?? In the process of.??

I honestly don't see what's "ridiculous" about assuming that the arrow Longshot put to his bow could be for Jet.?? You see that a lot of times--a quick(er) death at the hands of a friend as opposed to hours of long, slow death.?? I'm not saying it absolutely is, just that it's a possibility.

Toph wouldn't've been so upset about Jet lying about being fine if he was going to be back on his feet in an hour (or a couple of days or whatever).?? Honestly, if he wasn't dying, he looked paralyzed.?? And when Katara stood up after trying to heal him, she was really upset.?? The kind of upset that goes along with knowing that his insides are really messed up.

Smellerbee and Longshot??were guarding him, sure, but guarding him until when??? Until he was strong enough to get up??? Because from the look on Katara's face and the tone of Toph's voice, it didn't sound like he was going to be strong enough to move for a good long while.?? I think they were just guarding him until he died.

I'll actually feel a little bit cheated if Jet has an unexpected comeback.?? You don't set up a scene like that, with everyone crying and everything all dramatic and sad, and then be like "But he's okay!"?? Cheapens the whole thing.

Longshot was guarding the body until both Smellerbee said goodbye and Jet stopped breathing. They were going to stay at his side until that happened (when they would leave) or die there with thier leader.

Yeah, but an arrow doesnt exactly kill instantly.

Bleeding internally isn't exactly slow, depending on how fast. I'm pretty sure Jet's organs all ruptured and he didn't have much time at all.

It does if it's right through the head...Also it would be instant compared to hours of pain just laying there.

I think his clothes are supposed to show that he doesn't represent one nation in particular and is fighting for himself and what he believes.
