Is it just me, or is Katara kinda boy-crazy?

    Mary Sue is most notably referenced in fanfiction.?? The male version is Gary Sues.?? This is a character that usually enters into the main cast or builds a relationship with a main character quickly and easily without any logical reasoning.?? S/he usually has no flaws, or the flaw is romanticized, and is represented in an idealized way.?? They are usually seen as characters created for the author's wish fulfillment.?? Jin is perceived as a Mary Sue because of how quickly it is believed she was able to form a potential relationship with Zuko.

    She was flying around on Appa while Zuko was huddling in a cave to keep from freezing after trudging through a blizzard with Aang on his back.?? Compound to that the fact that they were fighting in a BLIZZARD at NIGHT, what else could Katara possibly needed to help her???

    I like the theories in this thread:

    1. Katara is a hormone driven teenager, why would she not be boy-crazy?
    2. Katara was raised at the South Pole, it amazing she as culture as is, she and her brother having lived in isolation are probably more then stimulated by their journeys all over the world. 3. Katara so bet Zuko, no wait zuko bet her, wait what does this have to do with this thread again? 4. My theory: it could be worse, she could be girl-crazy.

    Fight scene in "the chase" were Katara and Sokka are figting Mai and Ty lee abruptly ends.
    Sokka: OH GOD, KATARA WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!
    Mai: aaah Ty lee?
    Katara: mmmmhhh maaah mmuuuu, oh ya
    Ty lee: mmmhhh mmhhh mmmhh, wow you kiss better then azula.

    That is why it???s a theory, it might actually be pretty hot seeing that.

    Well now that your cast has been rested... (O_o, btw) I am going to say this:
    Aang? The most canon of them all.
    Zuko? NO. This is just Zutara's fans affected your subconcious. When has she ever shown affection for Zuko? Never. And don't count the ending for Chapter 15, because it was clearly playful sarcasm.
    Jet? Fine. I'll give you that one.
    Haru? Highly debatable, but acceptable, too.
    Teo? One notch below completely ridiculous. She treated him as a friend and nothing more; end of story.

    So she has shown attraction to three guys in the course of thirty-four episodes which translates to roughly 748 minutes in real time and about 5 months in the Avatar world. Not that bad, if you ask me.

    Completely agreed.

    The reason why Sokka and Katara like opposite genders is because in their tribe, there wasn't really anyone else besides themselves and little 7 year olds. Oh and old ladies.


    I'm pretty sure they like opposite genders because they were taught to not be gay but I get your point!

    woooo bashers, I'm not asking they be gay but why can't they be a little less sexually interested, why can't they just be kids? Look at Zuko he manage almost the whole show without showing any sexual impulse at all.

    Meh...maybe a little, but like people are saying "now it's Sokka's turn" .

    Yeah, and just for the hell of it I'm gonna go ahead and ask why people think Zuko was grabbing Katara's @ss in chapter 15. I mean to me it looked more like a tool used by the writers to show the audiecnce Zuko had brought them with him. I mean if he hadn't had done that no one would know how Katara and Sokka just magically appeared next to them. And that whole Sarcasm thing looked less like "oh, Zutara will definitely happen now" and more like the writers kinda slapping Zutarians in the face and saying "this is the closest you will ever get to Zutara, so take a good f-ing look at it" (watch now it'll happen and some??Zutarian mob will kill me for saying for saying this sh*t.)

    I digress.

    Anyway, I think after chapter 14 the whole boy crazy thing toned down, but that's just my observation.

    2.He ought some guard and took his clotes.

    dont know what you were doing around the age of 13- 16 but most " kids" i knew were just like them, so maybe they're REALISTIC, who'd want that in an tv show.... sigh.
