Is airbending incredibly strong or is it just Aang?

In the Blind Bandit he knocked back a boulder being propelled by earthbending.

Considering the boulder's size, any description saying it's weaker then Tornado force, is a severe understatement!

The answer to your question is both. Airbending is the top element despite all the fire lovers since zuko is pathetically felt sorry for. Which he needs support as the only support is a crazy uncle.

No. He is a master of Air now not just because he's the avatar. Being the avatar might get some extra kick to his bending, but air is the one thng he knows. I just don't see air getting beat by another element if both fighter's are equally skilled.

Aang has been officially recognized as a master airbender since he has been given the masters arrow tatoo. He is a natural prodigy like Azula and as others have said he is also the avatar so there is likely a little extra kick to some of his moves.

Airbending itself is also a very powerful bending style. However, it is mostly used for evasion and defense. most of its offensive moves serve only to push back the opponent or throw them away. By itself it can't often cause permanent injury or finish off the opponent.

wait... didn't all the other kids in aangs visions have arrows? even the ones who clearly weren't masters? i know the writers were saying the arrow means he's a master airbender, but couldn't it have been a contradictory statement, a mistake?

no, the other children in the Southern Air Temple did NOT have arrows, however, Gyatso and the other older monks did have arrows and so did the older women that were shown in flashbacks of the Eastern Air Temple in the episode Appa's Lost Days

Actually, in "The Storm" the kids that Aang was playing with they did indeed have arrows. And they weren't masters, cause they did even know how to do the air scooter.

Sorry, but i just love to nitpick about small details.

there??is no superior element they all have there strengths and weaknesses, anyone who thinks otherwise is biased, also airbending does have a finishing blow for those who think not, it is the air slice which bisects the enemy aang uses it in THE DESERT
