I dont think there was enought Iroh Action in the whole series. They said Iroh was as good as Ozai but the most powerfull thing i've seen him done is the breathing circular flame meteor blast thing to break the wall. I know he can lightning bend which is powerfull but he has never really fought a serious battle. So i guess we can never SEE how good he really is.

And theres a question i wanna ask.
Im not sure if this has been asked before so here it goes.

Whats up with Azula's blue fire?
Heres what i think. At first i thought blue fire was a girl's type of firebending but i've seen female fire nation guards bend normal fire so im wrong. My 2nd thought was, blue fire is an advance firebending. But if it was,why wasn't the firelord blue firebending. And now im stuck. So im asking you guys.

That's the point: you never see his limits. therefore, we imagine his powers limitless.

Azula is/was a firebending prodigy. She was cold, and calculating. The fire lord was, well, just another fire lord really. powerful, sure, but no prodigy.

True, I do kinda imagine Iroh as the all-powerful uber firebender. Because.. he just is an amazing character.

I am of the opinion that Azula could have been the most powerul firebender alive had she continued to develop. She was only 14, but she could generate lightning and she used blue flames.

I doubt that, since Aang now had the firelords firebending abilites, and his own. Plus those of his past lives. So yarp, Aang kicks major arse.
If you leave out the avatar.. yeah, she would've become the greatest firebender alive imo.

NO idea why her firebending is blue. If you go back to Zuko Alone you'll see that as a kid her fire was red. I guess it just means that, even though she can't generate AS MUCH fire as Ozai or Aang, the amount of fury in her makes her fire HOTTER.

Personally, I think that many parallels can be drawn between Azula and Iroh. After his life was pretty much shattered during his siege of Ba Sing Se, Iroh abandoned his past, and there-after became a "different man". Now that Azula's life has been pretty much destroyed, it would be interesting to see a journey she might take to heal herself. If she were to find her mother, visit the dragons, and mabyre follow in Iroh's stepsby making a foray into the spirit world, then who knows? In the next story of Avtar, Azula may well become the next Iroh (complete with the kick-assoriginal firebending).

    1. Iroh is NOT as strong as Ozai, he says so himself in the finale. Personally, I think he's much weaker.

    2. Azula got blue flames because of her focused perfectionist nature; she concentrates on the fire so hard it's hot enough to be blue. The skill is still with her even when she's losing the grip in the finale because a) it's the Comet, b) the skill is now an inherent part of her technique, so like lightning she can still use it even when unbalanced.

    3. Ozai generates FAR more flame than Azula, his flame is more destructive, and he uses it in more unorthodox ways.

    4. Plus, Ozai has white-green lightning, instead of the normal blue, and he can summon it faster.

    agreed.

you have to realize that iroh is a lot older than ozai, which puts iroh in a disadvantage. on a large field, like the one where aang and ozai battled iroh would;ve probably had the weaker hand against ozai, although in an agni kai i can see iroh winning in a small field.

Azula is a prodigy. theres not much more to be said. blue flame, some people say is stronger than regular flame, but i just think its another type of fire, in FBM we saw the dragons release all different colors of flame, i dont think one is stronger than the other though.

Please help me out. Where is it mentioned that Azula is only 14? For some reason, I always thought she was older than Zuko.

Thank you for that link. It's a great read. I haven't finished it all yet but there is still something that's not making sense. I won't post too many questions here as I don't want to get too off topic. I'm looking to see if there is another thread already dedicated to this but can't seem to find one...yet. If anyone can find one, please let me know. Thanks.

First off Iroh is my favorite character. Once He "betrayed" the FN he became free of the torment of fighting. Iroh knows that peace is the way to save the world. If he fights then he becomes a hypocrite. He fought through Zuko. It was Zuko's destiny to bring balance to the world. Iroh only provided guidance. That is why Iroh did not want to fight Ozai. It was not because he could not defeat him, but that if he did fight it would be, as he said "more senseless violence". Just because someone has the power does not mean they should abuse it. If they have the ability to take action to free the world from oppression then they have the responsibility to take action. That is the basis of his teachings. I would like to have seen a bigger display of Iroh's power, but if he did then he would be out of character. i love Iroh because of his message. Even with the power he chooses peace and kindness over violence and war. That is a message that we should all take to heart

Wrong here my friend. Iroh did not want to face Ozai because it is the Avatar's role to restore peace.

The reason why we don't see Iroh doing much fighting is because he doesn't like fighting anymore. Fighting is what took his son away from him. But that one move he used in the finale shows how much power he had because of what wall he destroyed... it was the outer wall of Ba Sing Sai it took an army of firebenders 600 days to breach it and a massive drill several minutes to do.

And Iroh desimated it in a single move.

Yeah, that was because he a had a power boost from Sozin's Comet. Well one way to prove just how much power he has, he can shoot lightining. Very few firebenders can accomplish this feat. I assume only "firebending prodigies" can accomplish lightning. Iroh, along with Ozai and Azula has shot lightning in the series.(Unless I missed a few others)

Ok another question regarding Iroh. How come he can see Aang in spirit form? (Remember Winter Solstice in Book 1) And what's up with his adventures in the spirit world? It wasn't explained in the finale how he got up there. Did he try entering the spirit world in the off chance of speaking to his son again?
