That's a hilarious typo! I don't understand why her dad hired Xin Fu. Xin Fu was the one that kidnapped her earlier.

He and Master Yu were the two most powerful Earthbenders to be found in the city. What they might have done in the past was irrelevant - someone with skill was needed urgently. Also, by kidnapping Toph in the past, Xin Fu proved that he was capable of doing it again.

I've seen most of those, and I have to say, none of them ever really swung it for me the way Avatar has.

Avatar pwns everything, except for epic legends (AKA Star Wars, LOTR, HP, etc) with which it is on a par.

your kidding right? avatar is good but it's story lacks depth, its so generic the character developments makes up for it so its still really good but falls short of those ones and the story line doesn't even come close to compare to them

Nope, not kidding. Storyline is only one of many factors that all add up to the overall impression made upon the viewer (although I personally give Avatar many props for it's storyline).

No other TV show has ever come anywhere close to the level of inspiration Avatar has succeeded on multiple occaisons in igniting within me. I don't know what parts of it add up to such an experience, but somehow, all the various pieces of the show come together in a truly beautiful manner for me.

You know the only story line is Aang mastering the elements looking for teachers and losing and gaining avatar state, then beating ozai everything else falls into character development

I also look for details like the classic rendition of Joseph Campbell's "Hero's Journey", the frequent inclusion of archetypes, and a dozen other small things that all add up to something big. Overall simplistic storylines (although this one was complicated at times) simply provide a stable base for this.
