As all of you know the Avatar video game is coming this month.

I saw the images and game play style and it looks very crappy.

So i have a theory of how an Avatar game should really be.

First of all it should be an Adventure/Action RPG. It should not be based on the series story!! it should use only the avatar's world. because all games based on movies stories suck. For game engine it should use The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's game engine, it has unbelievable graphics, amazing game play and earth-shattering physics. (want more info about oblivion and its features google it)

Ok in the beginning of the game you should be able to choose?? you bending nation. you are the avatar so you'll have to learn all the other bending powers ( that's why it has to be an rpg) at the start you are a 16 year-old who has just mastered your native bending power, and you are told you are the avatar, so have to travel all over the world ( oblivion's game engine could handle the entire Avatar world easily) to master the other elements and stop the possible fire nation attack ( that will become the war).

As an RPG you should be able to explore the whole world, cities, and towns with complete freedom, you will be able to recruit warriors to help in you, earn money on jobs, fight on arenas and find bending masters to teach you. Also you can buy boats, weapons, animals to ride and clothes to wear.?? There will be hundreds of side missions on each town that will raise your reputation, this will give you fame and bounty hunters will be after you.

After you develop ur bending abilities, the war will begin and a and immersing main??story will start. you'll be on HUGE battles between fire-benders and earth-benders, you'll be able to turn the tide of the battle using the avatar state. And you'll have to make your way to the fire nation and defeat the firelord in an epic battle!!

What do u think of my idea??

I like the idea of having a game with that much depth, but I never like first person RPGs like Morrowind and things like that. Something a little more actionny - like a revamped Kingdom Hearts system would be interesting.

One thing I think would be novel is if the game allowed you to use the Avatar State at any time and unleash any move in the game from the start - however if you die using that (as a very real risk), you lose your saved game and must start again. It makes total sense in the reality of the series. I know a lot of people are afraid of that notion, but when has a game actually mattered to you if you lost?

It would also be cool if it had Suikoden-style duels between benders...

The option to play as the Avatar, Zuko, or an original bender or non-bender would be incredible. Anyone play Knights of the Old Republic? It's a Star Wars game where you HAVE TO PLAY AS A JEDI. All I wanted to do was play with my blaster and tough it out.

But Toph is blind. You can't make that in a game for kids and have it be "I'm blind, but you're not! Let's play, tee hee!"

It sounds good, and that is how I would make it except for a few things. First you could chose if you wanted to be a Avatar or not. Second thought high level quest you can either become a Ruler a Military General ???and command troops into battles.??? or a Diplomat. But like Elder Scrolls you can go either way with it. One day you could be helping the Fire Nation take over a town, but the next day you are helping a resistance movement against them. But I think the idea of faction respect should be in it. Say you are a Earth Bender who is leading a resistance against the Fire Nation, well the more you do against the Fire Nation the less they like you. But say you turn on the resistance then the Fire Nation has more respect for you. But it will take some time earning more respect. There should be no real set goal other then what you make of it. If you just want to start a farm and grow crops all day then you can, if you want to be a thief and work your way up the crime ladder then you can, if you want to be a military commander then you work your way up from soldier to commander. If you want to be the best fighter you earn your way up it. You know something like that where the game is just really open. Also since the world is at war I would like to see areas change sides in battle. Like one day you might go to a Earth Kingdom town but next week the Fire Nation is in control but then maybe the next day the Earth Kingdom takes it back. But if you make it up to the military commander quest and ranks you can chose where to attack and take over land for your country. But then you could turn around and sell your country out to another one with info. You know just things that make the world seem like it is alive and you have a part in what happens. Say you are a farmer and you grow cabbages. Well if you stop selling cabbages you don???t make money for that but if you are selling it to a small town then people start to go hungry because you are not suppling them food. So all in all I would like a world where it is very open ended and what you do can effect the world, and if you chose to do nothing and just watch the world go by then the world goes by and you see what happens as the AI takes over. Sure something like this is kind of far off but a man can dream....a man can dream.

Miroku_of_Nite1, That would be The Best Game ever. Have you played Just Cuse?? It uses the Town-war system you described, if the game could be a mix of Oblivion and Just Cause it would Rock.
In just cause you are free to go everyehere liberate twons from the goverment, fight in battles with other factions, and gangs and fly on your parachute!!

What's wrong with having a blind character in a video game? The
Suikoden series has had at least 3 or 4 blind characters.. Besides, she makes up for her handicap with her other powers..

Anyway, after reading some of the other topics here, it seems like she is one of the least popular characters for some reason. I just thought it would be cool to play as her because she is my fav.

Um, also, why does it suddenly list me as being Level one in my posts? Still says I'm Level 2 at my profile.. and, I don't think I made any inappropriate posts or did anything that would cause me to lose points..

It did that to me when I came here too. It'll fix itself.

The blind super awesome character has been done to death. Though I think Samurai Champloo's is one of the coolest.

Hmm, I guess I just haven't seen many shows with characters like that, so the concept is relatively new to me. I also like her personality.. I think it plays well against the rest of the cast. I tried watching Samurai Champloo a few times, but never really got into it. Nothing against you or anyone else who likes it. I could just never get past characters using modern slang (i.e. "dude") in what is supposed to be feudal era Japan.

Try watching it without the English Dub. It's better subtitled, I couldn't watch it before either.

Yeah but wouldn't it be hard to play with the screen being blank the whole time. Any good graphics would go to waste. And not to mention it would be hard to fight with only hearing and senses.??Also you wouldn,t be able to go in water at all.
