And if it wasn'tlike that, it'd just be coddling an oviously blind character. When do we ever get to experience blindness in games?

If you played Everquest you can get blind and the screen goes black. But there has been a blind character in a game and that man is Wu Zi from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Yeah but wouldn't it be hard to play with the screen being blank the whole time. Any good graphics would go to waste. And not to mention it would be hard to fight with only hearing and senses. Also you wouldn,t be able to go in water at all.

Just because the character is blind doesn't mean they would have to make it so you were literally seeing thru her eyes, unless it was like an FPS point of view (which wouldn't be in an RPG anyway.)

Yeah. I know about Everquest's blindness status effect. Nice touch there. What about the GTA guy? Do you play as him, or just talk to him?

There's plenty of First Person RPGs. But still, playing a blind character and not having some kind of limitation is just cheap.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be limitations. Just saying that the entire screen turning black is a bit much.

Of course, that's why we have creative people making games.

Imagine it somewhat like how Daredevil from the movie saw the world around it. You weren't completely blind but thinks definetly looked different. For someone who didn't see the movie vibrations made a "radar" effect thing that gave him some vision. Btw saying you can't go in water, ya...how bout they just don't give you the option to be Toph during a water part...Btw the reason why Nick is making a game like that which obviously sucks is because no matter who popular it is they are too cheap to put enough money into making a good game. Plus they'd rather go with the quick buck rather than spend a lot of time not getting the money that instant. Trust me, Nickelodeon just acts like this so don't expect anything that great.

Sadly, yeah. I just wish we could have a competently made creative game.

Um, the actual game that's coming out or the fantasy one? I would like to play as Toph, hehe

That would be pretty neat if you had Toph as a playable character.?? Only, for her, you would have to have the video screen disabled and a rumblepack customized. hehehe

I might rent it, but I'd wait until it drops in price before I bought it.?? I've got enough games to play that I haven't finished yet.?? As far as the gameplay goes, you have to remember who the target audience is for the game.?? The difficulty and action will be geared to those preteen boys.?? Regardless of how they make the game, they are never going to satisfy everyone.?? There will be those that want it to be mostly action oriented; some will want RPG elements to be more prominent.?? Some want to play as a main character; some want to create their own.?? Everyone has different games they favor or excel at and want all games they want to play to be like that.?? There are people complaining about how Final Fantasy XII is moving away from its standard combat system, but some of them are the same people that would complain about how unrealistic it was.

What the game absolutely should not be is turn-based RPG. That would make some heart-breakingly cool moves and elements totally unnacesible.

I hope you fall in a well and starve to death, Trollwrangler. There's plenty of awesome Turn Based RPGs out there.

Trollwrangler wasn't insulting turn based games.?? The comment was that it was his opinion that that style was not the best gameplay medium to portray bending.?? I would agree.?? Avatar is more suited for an action game.?? Possibly use a combination system or have different things mapped to the buttons.?? A block button would form an elemental shield.?? Have a weak and strong attacks.?? Maybe even map certain higher level attacks to a shoulder button menu like with X-Men Legends.

the game screen wouldn't have to be black if you could play as Toph, if the game was in 3rd person or something. But is wrong with a blind character in a series? What is that stretotype about the blind your seeing it from? We blind are not one to tip over stuff, or mistake a man as a woman. Sorry I was reading something earily that made me about stretotype about the way the sighted public see the blind.

In case anyone is interested, I have basically completed the first mission of my Avatar game.

    Here are some features:

Each chapter has several missions. (Typically as little as two, as many as six or so.) These missions have you with a party of the characters similar to the way it was in the TV show. For example, in the first mission, Katara and Sokka are fishing when they crash their boat and find Aang. This is a Katara & Sokka mission.

You may do several bending moves outside of battle, like making a staircase out of ice. You do this by finding a Bending Point then putting in the right combination of steps.

There is going to be a wide array of these moves, as well as many, many moves inside of battle as well.

What about a Real Time Strategy game (like Age of Empires) set in the Avatar world? That will be cool!
