Actually, the majority of people that like Kataang don't even know Zutara exists, on account'a, you know, it being NON-EXISTENT. The reason Zutara has more hits on deviant art and fanfiction is because Kataangers don't too much need fan art or fan fiction for their ship to happen because it's already becoming true. |
People do fanart and fanfiction because they enjoy the pairing and want to show how much they love it or they like it so much they just enjoy doing it. Or do you really think it's because since it doesn't happen in the show, they just pretend it happened and create stuff so that they can dream of it? Why is there such a thing as Avatar fanart, I mean after all the show obviously did happen! Oh what? It seems so inexistent, well we got Tokka, there are less supporters but it is obvious Toph likes Sokka, so why isn't it as popular? The only thing you get by saying that is that it proves more that there is a larger amount of Zutara fans than Kataangs. Because they don't see Zutara, they just watch the show, but if they got to know what Zutara is, they would actually start thinking about it and might start noticing the hints in the show, which can lead them to liking Zutara more and they will start shipping it instead. Also, you say Zutara is not happening way too oftenely, which leads me to think you only ship Kataang because for you it is just so obvious. Hear this, being a fan of something because it is canon is truly shallow. Google it, Yahoo it, see your results. |

I've googled and yahoo'd before, and that doesn't necessarily mean there are more fans. It just means a certain term has been used more than the other. Imo it's more likely there are more Kataang fans, but there's no true way to prove there's more. If anything, in one instance, search "Avatar Comic con shipping" on Youtube and you'll here the crowd go crazy when they see Kataang. When Zutara goes after it, there isn't as much of a joyous uproar as there is for Kataang, if you listen past the girl behind the camera screaming who obviously likes Zutara. Fan art and fan fiction and stuff is all good, but the reason a lot of people do it is because it's not in the show. Thus far there haven't been any hints toward Zutara, because in the latest episode Katara herself shot down the only thing Zutara had left and that was CoD. And I don't ship Kataang because its canon, I like Kataang because I think there's really something there. This isn't my writing but it says some of what I like about it.

Seriously, how many times now have we seen the whole "hate turns to love" thing? That's one of the main reasons people like Zutara because they act like that's something new when its not. They just want to set up the scarred emo-boy with the hot girl of the show. It's just as cliche as Kataang is. They also think Zuko is more mature than Aang, which he isn't. He doesn't act childish and fun-loving like Aang does, but he's immature in other ways like refusing to relent on chasing the Avatar for three years. As a matter of fact, Katara can be immature herself like in The Warriors of Kyoshi and the chase. Again, let's also not forget that the only positive moment with Zuko and Katara, Katara was actually mothering Zuko! However, most Zutarians refuse to acknowledge that and see it as true love, positive tension or whatever so they can plot-morph the show to their liking. |
