So I just finished Avatar Spirit's Q&A video and here are my conclusions for the fate of Avatar:
There is a MMO coming out, and I'm not sure when, or how good it will be; here's hoping its not a pay and play set up
There is NO BOOK 4 AIR ! As much as it saddens me, I think Aang and Zuko's "story arcs" are over. That does not mean that there are no spin offs, ect.
Zuko finding his mom were included in the finale, but Mike DiMartino killed it, for unknow reasons
The movies will be an accurate retelling of each consecutive book.
Avatar will air where all good Nick shows go to die ; Nicktoons Network
This panel will NOT be the last that Avatar will have at the SDCC
My Thoughts:
Avatar The Last Airbender is officially over. I am as sad an distraught as the rest of you, maybe even more so. There have been NO CONFIRMED SPIN OFFS OR MINISODES , ect, so I will not get my hopes up. The inclusion of a continuation of an Avatar panel at SDCC gives me some hope of a new series in the Avatar World, but not so much that I would be devistated if it did not happen (I was devistated that the show ENDED).
I just wish that we could have some sort of closure; I'm having a hard enough time with stress as it is. |
there are gonna be episodes for the MMORPG. i wonder if they actually will make a story out of them

I doubt they are done with the Gaang and everyone else. It makes no sense for them to leave a two year gap between the end of Book 3 and the movie. They need to keep people interested, so I would expect something Avatar related in mid-to-late 09. |

Wait... they confirmed that they are going to make a new series not surrounding the gAang? I just got back from my trip, so I'm just catching up now
*Edit*
Oh wait... I just re read your post, and I released I skipped the "if" part lol.
My bad

Alrighty then, may you please post a link to this announcement?

No, they are done. Bryke has made it very clear that if they are going to make a new series it will NOT surround the gAang. |

I've heard it before too. He called the end of Aang and Zuko's story arc, and has said that if they make a new series it will not be around the gaang. They are being very vague about the whole future of the franchise. I hope they continue the Avatar Universe, but like I said earlier, my brain tells me to stop obsessing. |

WOW. I can't believe it's almost a year since season three premiered...all the times on these fourms, all the weird memories. They seem that they were just yesterday. |
Within these past few hours that I have spent in my home since I have returned from my trip... I have learned much about the information that Bryke did and didn't provide at the San Diego Comic Con. Their statements and parody trailer of Book 4: Air, seems like they were somewhat joking about the end of the Avatar series (please correct me if my observations are incorrect or illogical).
The one thing that keeps on running through my head over and over again is within the final minutes of the series where Zuko asks his father "Where is my mother?"
Seeing as how Mike and Bryan seem to be very meticulous with their work, everything in the Avatar series has significance. For them to place a question of such gravity asked by Zuko and to leave it entirely open... is simply not like them. With their statements at the San Diego Comic Con, and what they prepared for the series finale... it just seems like what they did was all for a purpose. This purpose being that they are going to make some sort of continuation. Also, they never confirmed anything concerning the minisodes; as a matter of fact, they never even seemed to acknowledge this.
It just seems odd that they would leave this seemingly important question entirely unanswered. They left this seemingly important character who is the supposed cause of Azula's current pyschological state. Whether she is alive or dead, is unanswered as well. The wife of Ozai, the mother of Azula and Zuko, three of the main characters, is simply left in a shroud of mystery left for the viewers to some how unveil (with no help of the minisodes, seeing as how these are not confirmed).
Personally, I am going to wait and see. I am going to remain dedicated to this epic series and watch the fate of Avatar be revealed. Many Avatar fans and myself included were expecting Mike and Bryan to reveal some sort of information regarding the future of Avatar at the San Diego Comic Con, yet they didn't. The future of Avatar remains concealed. The statements provided by Mike and Bryan remain ambiguous.
At this point, it no longer saddens me, but leaves me to further my observations of the Avatar series and the creators, Mike and Bryan. The ending of the series didn't entirely end the series for me. The ending of the series seemed to open up many more possibilties for the future of the Avatar series, and the Avatar universe.
All that many of the Avatar fans and I can do, is simply wait.

I have been having a hard time believing ANYTHING on this forum about future plans for avatar. Unless its confermed by the creators, I don't believe you. People can say whatever they want, it doesn't make it a true statement. Saying the show is over and saying the show will continue are both false statements, nothing has been confermed. All im saying is that im sick of hearing people that are jumping to conclusion about the future of avatar. Please just WAIT...its not over until Bryke says its over. |
