Foreshadowing Throughout Avatar

Do you think that all the episodes in Avatar are connected in some way?

    And in the Storm episode 12 Iroh redirected a bolt of lightning. I rewatched that and was OMG DUH. And then we learn he invented that halfway through Season 2

    Well the second one foreshadows where Roku failed Aang succeeded first with the volcano then with stopping a fire lord from taking over the world.

    Well I guess you're right about the flame thing. but these 2 shots seem to suggest that the burners in the back may be turned off or on depending on the Fire Lord's current preference. Azula has both burners on because she is paranoid of being assassinated.



    Although I could swear that throne looks more and more engulfed in flames every minute Azula is on it.





    Right after she walks off you can't even see the seat anymore by the time the scene ends.

    I don't think it really means much in the grand scheme of things but yes, it does look like she has "both burners" on.

    No, those are just cool shots. There are shots with his face completely visible. I'll have to find them sometime when I'm really, really bored.

    That's just a fact. That's been demonstrated in a lot of episode. You see it with Zuko and Jeong Jeong.

    yeah, remember in Warriors of Kyoshi when Iroh says (about Aang) "We have no idea where he is" and his meditating candles shot up to the ceiling.

    There's more (too lazy to look) but if I think back now that particular shot came up any time Zuko was being particularly angsty but kind of stopped once Zuko joined the Gaang. More symbolism, I suppose!

    Hey it's even in the chibi shorts!

    On a related note I just noticed when I was looking at pictures of Zuko bending lava that not only was there was foreshadowing in "School Time Shipping" but in "Bending Battle" as well. Look it's the dancing dragon!

    Damn an awesome thread is dieing and it's just me talking to myself.

    This is the famous flashback from "the storm" and "the beach"


    Zuko running from Azula in "the avatar state".


    It's interesting to note that he is wearing a similar outfit in the flashback.

    And just for the hell of it one more picture of Zuko's scared side of his face shaded for the road.

    Is this also foreshadowing the return of his hair?

    The fact that the chibi shorts also contain foreshadowing makes this show even more awesome than it already is.

    In the first episode of season 2, when we introduce teenage Azula, she shot lightning and left a hair out of her place.

    In the previous episodes, Siege of the North, Katara let her hair down when fighting Pavik and the first fight vs Zuko.

    She, Katara, let her hair down gain in The Crossroads of Destiny while battling Zuko and Azula. Then we fans indicate this was Nick's way of showing a hardcore battle.

    But in the Comet ending, Azula came into the Agni Kai vs Zuko with all her hair down. This was Zuko's tell that she's unstable.

    Finally, when Katara pulled off Ground Zero vs crazy Azula, and tied her up, Katara's hair stayed in place. Could it be that she achieved 'perfection' while Azula failed?

    I think hair is hair. Azula's hair may have been symbolic but Katara's hair was fan service to the drooling guys.

    Hair is a very important symbol in Avatar. Sometimes it's used just for fan service, but the majority of the time in symbolizes major character development taking place.
