I want to know whose the most popular and least popular character. Post whose your favorite character and then your least favorite. And if you want to, include why their your favorite and least favorite. And try not to be offended by someone's choice of characters.

Favorite Character: Toph
She's tough, she's short, and she's one of the greatest Earthbenders ever. I like her fashion sense, appearance, and how tough she is, even though she's short. I think that's cute. And she has an interesting history, and unlike some of the main characters, has gone through much needed personal growth, even if only a little. Sure she can be too mean, but I like her all the more for that. That's just the way she is.

Least Favorite Character: Katara
Bossy, jealous, a perfectionist, and oblivious to Aang's obvious crush. She became a Waterbending Master in a few days or maybe a week. She had little control over bending, yet she became a Master in so short of time. She's too "save the world, stop moping around, and fight back". She claims she understands others feelings like Aang's and Haru's when they lost their family, but she doesn't. And, honestly, it seems like she's bragging about her mother's death and necklace. I know that sounds harsh, but to me it sounds like it. When she can't bend, she just gasps and stands around. When Mai pinned her to that tree, she didn't even struggle. Her design is too extravagant and she receives too much attention for a non-main Main character (which is Aang). She's an annoying mother hen. I liked her character in the first two episodes because she was a caring motherly figure who struggled with bending. But later she became a bossy know-it-all teen. I know I say this a lot, but the fact so many like her when she has so many annoying faults is a pain. I think I could like her character if I stopped hating her, but I'm reminded of how annoying she is too me all the time. So, no, I hate her.

Favourite character: Iroh
I cant really explain why I like him so much as a character but here goes, I think he has a great personality he always looks at thing realistically and normally understands the situation well. He is really wise and is not an evil mad power hungry firebender *coughAzulaOzaiZhaocough*. Eh he makes ok jokes and he's Zuko's uncle which requirs alot of patience. He lost his son and so got to feel sorry for him. Oh and one last thing he is a kick-ass firebender.

Least favourite character: Ty Lee
A few selection of the characters on Avatar annoy me (Teo, Katara , Koko,) but one stands out and it has to be Ty Lee. I think she is a fool for not seeing through Azula's plan to make her work for her. She seems like a good person and yet she commits bad crimes, she attacks someone and then says she likes them??? She made that stupid comment about the fur on appa, she hugs people 24/7 and she just doessn't have an interesting personalitly just stupid comments. About the only thing I like about her is that she can do that cool pressure point thing.

I completely agree with Pheonix. Toph favorite, Katara least favorite. There's not much that I can say that he hasn't already said.

It's not that the idea is bad, but the way she said it. She doesn't care for anyone but herself and her goals. I just dislike characters like that, those who don't have a shred of humanity.

What did I say about not criticizing others about their character choices. Yes I hate Katara, I have reasons. And I was wrong to call her a Mary Sue, I can admit that. She's not a Mary Sue. But don't bother me about that alright. People bother me about hating the "oh so beloved" Katara already.
Katara tells anyone that tells her that they lost a family member to the Fire Nation that she lost her mother. She was struggling with Waterbending, then all of a sudden, she rivals Zuko (it was night, but she held her own against an almost Firebending Master). She beat every other student of Master Pakku's. Come on. She isn't empathetic, she thinks she is. She tries to comfort people and that's alright, but she thinks she can comfort anyone and that she understands how they feel. She doesn't.
As of the "stop moping around and fightback". She thought that she knew how those broken Earthbenders felt, and that she could singlehandedly change their minds. It was a noble cause, I don't mean to sound like a witch or like Azula, but it's how she acted that poisons even the most noble of causes. She thinks she can lead everyone to a better future, that her way is the right way, and she won't stop until everyone sees the world like she does. sure, she wants to help the world, but she's going about it all wrong.
And why can't I hate Katara. Too me, she's annoying. See, people are bothering me about hating her. I bet if it were Azula who were my least favorite character no one would bother me. Alas, it is Katara who I hate and are being nagged about. So what, I hate Katara, so do other people. Leave me alone about this. I like to make my point that I dislike Katara, but to do this over and over and not make a difference in people's views is annoying.

yeah, i'm sorry, i just didn't understand some of your points, that's all. and for the record, i don't like katara all that much either. i just wondered why you hated her so much, because i didn't understand any of that. sorry
