Personally, i'm starting to have doubts: Was it better than Siege of the North?

It was the??best esp??for this season so far.??I hope the other esps ??after this are good because we don't need another fluff esp??. I loved the battles in this. I really like the north esp thing the best for the animation and?? story. There was just nothing like it. I mean this esp that justed played?? had a great stoy line but the animation was a little off. I still liked the battles scenes more then SATNP.

There is no way that Lake Laogai is better than the SOTN. This was one thirty minute episode. There weren't as many scenes. Don't get me wrong, but it was a great episode. I agree with Serenityblu, it was the best so far of this season, although personally I do like the Avatar State and Zuko Alone.

I still think SOTN is still better and more epic than this one.

SOTN was insane, LL was really amazing. However, I know we are all excited over LL, but it is not better than Zuko Alone, i dont think. Id say it goes:

    SOTN
    ZUko Alone
    LL

IT WAS AMAZING, but doesnt top SOTN

Not quite as epic, but definitely as intense.

From my opinion, Lake Laogai was far better than siege of the north. It was not quite as suspenseful, but wasn't ruined with those "funny" parts for the little kids, such as the meditating monkey spirit.

They don't really TOP eachother, keeping in mind that SotN was a two-parter and they worked just about every effect they could into it. LL was awesome, and was a MAJOR turning point in the story; Zuko quitting the 'Blue Spirit', Jet coming back and ((MAYBE)) dying, Appa comes back, etc., etc. They both had very cool parts, and also ones you just wanted to reach through the screen and slap a few of those people, but I honestly can't say which was better.

I did not think the monkey spirit ruined it with it, I actually thought it was quite humorous...

But anyway, the only thing that I'm wondering about is what is going to happen to Appa's saddle and Sokka's club.

I think you really can't compare, because if you put this episode side by side with its counterpart from Season 1, it would be up against "The Northern Air Temple"

AND with that said... it totally blew away its competition!

Definately. When you compare it to the two parts separtely then it is way better. Although the seige of the north was great this has all the elements combined into it as well as Zuko finally got told off by iroh. Also jet is a way better character to sacrifice than princess yui. The way they got ambushed was better than the waterbenders fight gainst the fire benders, although not as good as zuko vs. katara or katara vs. paku. Also this episode alluded to the seige of the north so that right there makes it better. Finally toph is in it so that pulls it up to above the seige of the north.

does a bear poop in the woods??? The answer, if you know simpsons is 'No, they don't.?? they poo in a bag and toss it in the garbage'.?? but that's not the point. the point is that yes, Lake Laogai rocked the SOCKS off of Siege.

Well it depends. "The Siege of the North" is divided into two parts. "Lake Laogai" would have been better than the first part had they not had the whole Aang-anime scene. I didn't really get that. No way is it better than the second part though. The second part was just some...awesome

LL is an awesome episode. I think I have to watch it again though for it to sink in, as when I got home last night I was so tired from yelling at the football game (I'm losing my voice as it is). BTW - WE'RE SECTION CHAMPS AND BEAT OUR RIVALS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 15 YEARS AND KNOCKED THEM OUT OF THE TOP SPOT IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!! [/crazed school spirit moment]

Zuko Alone is very good. The last scene was so freakin' awesome of that ep. But I think LL tops it at least. In the list of my top 5 Avatar episodes, this would be #3, behind both finale eps, and just ahead of Zuko Alone and The Blue Spirit. Next would probably be (in no real order) The Blind Bandit, The Storm, The Deserter, Bato of the Water Tribe, City of Walls and Secrets, etc.

??yeah, you're right. No flipping WAY is it better than part 2. Although, I think what made this episode so good was that it had everything an action/spy movie would have in 30 minutes. now THAT'S genius. however , the aang-anime part was HILARIOUS. i totally disagree with you on that one.

I don't agree. Jet is someone who is not very nice, and is unpredictable. They don't really trust him, and he is brainwashed. All you have to say is, "Jet, the Earth King has invited you to Lake Laogai," and he will turn on you on the dime. Princess Yue was the moon! What's better than that? Anyway, she was a loved character, especially by Sokka. I couldn't believe it when she gave up her life. Jet died for no reason, it wasn't even a sacrifice. Yue died in mortal form so that she could save her intire tribe. She knew how off balance the world would be without the moon, so she gave up her life. That's true sacrifice.
