I was absolutely a big fan of Avatar when it first came out. I thought the fight between Aang and Ozai was just gangsta even though it could have been better. I just feel like in most shows when they end it's like really emotional and sad because it's the final episode, but Avatar just feels like it was rushed to me and when it ended it was like..."Ok Avatar is finally over, let's watch Naruto" I don't know, but Avatar to me even though it was funny, it still felt a little emotional at the beginning because it was like the whole world was on Aang's shoulder and he was only 12 and was the last air bender. so it was kinda heart felt, but it didn't feel like that on the last episode.

I think another thing that didn't help the exit of the show was the all of a sudden disappearing of new shows. Nick was showing new episode and then all of a sudden they stop showing Avatar for months and didn't give any hints of it going off air for a while and how long we have to wait until new episodes come. Then out of a Blue Nick advertises Avatar about 2 weeks before showing new episodes and then says it's counting down until the movie. I'm not sad when a show ends, but when a shows end it's like "Awww...it's over", but Avatar was like "Oh...it's over, wish there was more to it" And I hate when shows end with a cliffhanger on the last episode because I wanted see Zuko's Mother.

Well I guess I'm not sad because Naruto's better, plus Bleach still showing new episodes and Heroes' coming back in September a minor set back because of Writer's Strike, but Thank God it didn't get it cancel.

i can totally understand you. they made it last for 2 years and then in one week its over. i liked the spacing even though it was nail biting and maddening. when you through it all in one week or even in a 2 hour movie it kind of looses its meaning and how important each detail is. the whole lion turtle and what happened with aang and ozai was completely uncalled for for me. i didnt understand i felt it was too quick. and im still trying to grasp the fact that after 2 years its finally over. aang faced the firelord. and made it out alive as well as defeated it. zuko has his place as heir to thr throne. aang and katara are together. and azula is in chains. everyones happy but theres something missing from all of it. its disappointing.

Agreed! It seems wierd because when you think back it was only 61 episodes and to me that's like "Hello? Did we just see a twelve year old get freed from an ice berg, fall in love, turn his enemy good, see his enemy gbetray his only loving family, die, come back to life, take refuge in the nation he's trying to take down, learn about the avatar state, master the avatar state, defeat the fire lord, have enough time for two Zuko back stories, one katara back story, one roku/sozen back story, one kyoshi back story, have him learn fire bending and lose it, travel to an ancient city, have his best frind and enemy turned good invade a prison and escape together, fight and destroy an entire fleet trying to take over the water tribes, meet the moon and ocean spirits, meet a giant talking turtle, take away the bad guys bending, lose the earth kingdom, and so much more all in sixty one episodes?" It seems as though they were rushing it and wanted to be doen with it! Don't get me wrong I am an overly obsessive avatard (Just ask my brothers) and that finale kicked butt over any tv show finale yet but it left to many open holes like Ursa's whereabouts, iroh's trip to the spirit world, hawky's location, Toph's parents, Azula, and much more. They should make a mini series to answer these questions.

They are making mini-episodes due out in Spring 2009. Also, a movie to look forward to in theatres. I'm sure the mini-episodes will shed some light on the unanswered questions.

It seems to me that many people have trouble letting go. As far as endings go, I really enjoyed this one. Yes there will be a mini-series to answer the remaining questions, but the series itself finished beautifully.

You have NO IDEA. It is extremely hard to let go, but it's also hard because in all honestly, you don't want to let go at all.

That's what I'm saying. The way they went about with Avatar it really wasn't difficult of letting it go. I didn't heard of any mini episodes. I guess it's going to be like Lost Episodes. The thing about letting that's what I meant about the whole emotional thing about ending a show. Like even though I've never show Friends, but when NBC was advertising it ending I bet people who watched the show was like "Awww...The show is over, no more new episode" And had like a frown face. But Avatar was like "OK it's over, what else is on"

Thanks to everyone who felt the same as I did, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who thought this.

I've watched the finale in full 3 times, and from the time aang took down the fireship till the end over 20 times, it's REALLY hard to let go

o.O No kidding. I'm at a stage where I refuse to listen to any music except for all the Avatar themes...over, and over, and over again.
